I haven't done anything yet. :lol

Check out the 3PO thread - around the page 360-ish mark somewhere. Someone's got a pic of him on one.. not sure about the padding on the crotch grabber - but I'll be making that tweak.

The good thing is that he fits on there comfortably. :)

I've bypassed the current HT RoboCop for the time being - because of the 'die-cast' & sound gimmick. Not getting any 'die-cast' HT Iron Man figures. Tamashii C-3PO's a one off so far. I'll be using a modded HT stand for mine, & he certainly WON'T be be falling off any of my shelves. :lol

Thats too bad man, the Die Cast line has reinvigorated my Iron Man lust. :yess:

I've got die cast toys going back to forever, I've yet to have problems with any of them, but I don't bathe with them. :lol

Yeah cool man. :)

I'm not a die-cast hater - at all, really. As you say, there are some awesome pieces out there made of the stuff. I've got the TV, Burton & Nolan 1:18 Hot Wheels Batmobiles - plus a bunch of smaller ones, & other TV / movie cars. Tamashii C-3PO is my most prized figure at the moment - on par with HT Luke. Really looking forward to the Tamashii R2-D2. :rock

I've been enjoying the discussion with Lerath though, & he makes some great points too.

Just to clarify, firstly - with RoboCop there's a few things; the sound chip turned me right off, the die-cast parts have definitely added to the cost - I hate the display stand :)lol), & with the prospect of the next version around the corner with the Weller sculpt, I'm hoping that one will be die-cast & chip free. I can hope..

Secondly - Iron Man. I've got the mk4 - LOVE that figure, & don't want anything else to be completely honest. :duff

I never picked up anything but the main armors, even seeing the Milk in multiple displays at Universal didn't sway me, but as soon as I saw the cast War Machine.... :love

Oh man, I have mine set up different. Mine isn't even on page 100, I'm at 93. :lol

I went for the highest number of posts per page. Don't know how you can stand it any other way. :lol

I see Ssc have offered up the baroness so I assume this means the new female body is ready. Nope there's details over sdcc. Could it mean a new female Star Wars figure?

Hot Toys should make her their first Leia redux. DX Boushh would rule.

With as good as SS has been lately, I don't mind it if HT is done with Star Wars. Slave Leia or Endor Leia would be nice, but not before Hoth/Bespin Leia.

And am I the only one who wants a Skiff Guard Lando?

Don't care how good the Hoth stuff looks, there's definitely still room for HT in this line. Let's not get hasty, people!

Nope. Been waiting since the first Boushh for that Lando.

And yeah, Sideshow Hoth Leia is the only next Leia I want. But I'd rather Sideshow not spend their time retreading old ground. And I know for a fact that a Hot Toys Boushh would rule.

Lerath, thanks for the metallurgy lesson, much appreciated. However, even I know you got one very important thing mixed up in the explanation. "diecast" (die cast) is a process, not a specific metal/alloy, even if one or more specific alloys are commonly used in toys made with the process. It's an important process distinction from stamped, forged or machined metal work.

But I understand clearly why you're against the use of the Zamak alloy. Still not something that would deter me from the recent 3PO however - only the price. ;)

I've speculated for a while that Hot Toys may have passed on Star Wars for now at least, due to the sell-through rate. It won't surprise me at all to see SSC as the only game in town for 1/6 SW collectibles for at least a couple of years. And it will probably be a couple of years before all the Hoth stuff is in-hand.

Just as well if the Hoth stuff is staggered over the next 18 - 24 months. Guessing for a Tauntaun, Han, Luke and Probe Droid that we're looking at ~$1000.00 for the set, assuming one preorders immediately and isn't waiting for markdowns.

Correction
Die casting is a process. In common vernacular, die cast metal, the material produced from said process is typically truncated to "die cast", or "diecast" as one word.

Zamac is the material of choice for creating die cast products. Tings are generaly either die cast zamac, a different, lesser quality zinc alloy, or die cast aluminum. You can tell which it is by weight.
