Brees will still have a lot of hype, and is still damn good of course, but I just meant that today he didn't do the things he did in the first two games. No TD passes, <200 yards passing. Everyone was talking about how he tied the record for most TDs through 2 games going in (9), and now he looks a bit more like a "very good" QB than a "great" one (now averaging 3 TDs per game through 3 games).

But next week we have the 3-0 Jets, then a bye week, then the 3-0 Giants :google

What a horrid weekend of football. First PSU gets beat by iowa AGAIN. Now the Redskins lose to a team that hasn't won a game since 07. Thank God hockey starts soon...

The bride at the wedding I went too is a huge State fan. She made sure to have tv's all over the reception and even came in with her State jersey on. LOL! The brides maids were all in State blue too. We were all pissed that they lost. :banghead

Teams in just about every conference have been getting upset this year. Trust me, different result if Sean Lee was playing.

i think the Giants game will be the biggest test to see if they are a super bowl caliber team this year

Getting rid of Jeff Garcia was the height of stupidity, IMO. Possibly the most under-rated QB since Doug Flutie, and all too often made the scapegoat when he has crap teams around him.

I agree with that one but the D has been terrible too though.

I agree completely, and that's part of my point, because Garcia was being blamed for not getting things done when he didn't have a good team around him to help out. I think Tampa Bay had been making bad decisions from a GM standpoint over the last few years. They didn't have the players needed to win big games. Maybe a shakeup (including ditching Gruden) was needed, but why would they get rid of a very solid QB without having a legitimate successor lined up. Leftwich? Gimme a break.

All I can say is I have no clue what they were thinking for this year. Getting Winslow and Ward were good moves but they are still a mess. Its going to be a depressing year in Tampa.
