Are Patton and Brown expected back this season?

The Niners are playing better, but their offensive line has been inconsistent this year. Say what you will about Kaepernick looking unsure of himself or his receivers earlier this season, but it has seemed to me that anytime he's tried to tie or win a game at the end, the defense is always in his face almost instantly. He's been getting sacked a lot as well. With Staley and Iupati out I hope the O-line holds up and at least proves that we can hang with Seattle outside of their stadium.

But the Seahawks look flat out awesome at home. They are a rival, but I'm not ashamed to admit that they are fun to watch when they are so dominant. That defense. And I'm a Sherman fan.

But I do agree with PC as the head coach. He seems like a far bigger ****** of a person than what people say about Jim Harbaugh. Yeah, Harbs might whine about every penalty that goes against us but with Pete abandoning USC and then lying telling his former players that he'd draft when he wouldn't. Just seems like a jerk to me.

As far as the fans go, it just seems like a lot of little brother syndrome going around. There are some respectable Seahawks fans here, but many of them seem to have just popped out of the blue the past couple of years after hiding for so long and have to tell everyone how great the team is. And yes, many 49er fans are among the whiniest, most spoiled fans out there (I'm not one of them and I hate Niner fans who are). But these Seahawk fans and this sense of entitlement some of them seem to have..some of them act like they are suiting up and hitting offensive players themselves. I thought Raven fans were horrible with the hiding when the team sucks and then being obnoxious when the team is good thing, but at least they have won Super Bowls and they still aren't as bad as some Hawk fans. Yeah I'm a Niner fan but I have no problem respecting my rival. I ADMIRED how Seattle dominated us in Week 2. I want my team to be that punishing.

But as far as the Seahawks team goes, it's been a long time since a front runner or a top seeded team has won the super bowl, but with that defense and that home field I'd feel far better about this team doing it than any top seeded team in recent history. It's all about matchups though. When the 49ers beat the Saints at Candlestick two years ago, and then the Giants squeaked by the 49ers in the NFCC, the Giants fans all felt lucky because if they had to go to New Orleans they felt like their season would have been over. But, as it were, they won the Super Bowl.

I respect U an a Niner Fan ... since joining this board, and reading your writes. I think U gotta good understanding of Edicit on such matters , and its always a pleasure.

I think it's easy for anyone to get caught up in anything .... even more with Sports and rivals ... It's difficult as posters on message boards to understand lines crossed sometimes because some lines are not the same for Everyone. When Teams Win ..., it gives Fans something to talking about ...., fair weather fans, Ban wagon hoppers and drive by posters.

I wrote many, many pages ago, that Seahawk Fans, are so Hungry for a championship .... as the Team .
Every Team has Obnoxious Fans and Followers .
it doesn't mean Everyone is like that.

Niners Nation and Field Gulls will be picking up in the comments section as the week goes on. Get your popcorn ready.

Can someone with an iphone confirm a rumor for me? Apparently if you ask SIRI who the best NFL QB is, she will respond Nick Foles. :lol

Well kind of.

"Nick Foles leads the league with a quarterback rating of 125.2 this season."

Then shows the top 10 QBRs.

I appreciate the gesture and have always found you very easy to talk to. We've had nothing but positive discussions and debates in the past and it will surely continue after Sunday no matter who wins. But you're absolutely right...every team has "those fans". I live in Nj and Jet fans have this reputation to be awful people. And many of them seem to be after they drink a bit and the Jets are getting their butts kicked in. But there are some that are just a blast and take football for just what it is. It's a game. At the end of the day, it's a game controlled by millionaires. Some fans just get too carried away.

If you got to tell your fans how and when to cheer that's just sad:rotfl

Agreed. Pretty much an embarrassment. But I'll say this, for having this reputation as a "tough place to play", Candlestick isn't necessarily great home field advantage. The crowd is loud, but very tolerable. And the field and wind situations typically end up hurting the Niners as much as helping them lol

Texans have made this official. Kubiak's gone. RT @SI_PeterKing: I expect Gary Kubiak will be fired today as the coach of the Texans.

Wade Phillips interim coach

And with the first pick of 2014 NFL Draft the Houston Texans select....

I bet the Rest if the AFCwould be ok with that:lol

Yup. Manziel's style of play right now would get himself killed in the NFL. He needs to learn to slide and not invite the big hit when takes off for one thing.

My guess is the Texans would take Teddy Bridgewater, but I wouldn't be shocked by Jadeveon Clowney either.
