You're right about what Brees said, but good teams win those tight games. That was what distinguished the Saints in their Superbowl season. Lots of tight games that they pulled out. Last night was an embarrassment defensively. I'm not sure what can be done at this point, but I hope they try something differently.

I think Cowboys future is on one group of 5 guys. If that line stays healthy and continues to play like that they will be just fine. There were plays where I could have run for 10 yards.

From the Cowboys POV, I think the best thing about last night was their defense. They shut the Saints down for most of the game, until nearly garbage time when they started playing looser in order to keep from giving up big plays. And that's no easy task. But I would hesitate to give much credit to their offense after seeing the Saints fumble around on defense for 3 of 4 games this year (including against the lowly Browns). All those plays where the defenders just seemed to forget how to tackle were terrible to watch.

No matter how you slice it, a win is a win and they have been far too rare for the Cowboys to try to quantify it in any way. Right now they are 3-1 after 4 games which is more than I could have hoped for. With the Texans and Seahawks coming up that can easily turn into 3-3 in the blink of an eye.

God damn the Pats are getting shredded, the play calling continues to be questionable

I had just about enough Josh McDaniels after SB42. If they really need a retread coach Charlie Weis is free again. Of course if I'm Charlie, why bother when you can sit on your couch and collect $26 million from Notre Dame and Kansas.

Clearly something screwy is going on in the NFL this year. Goodell should do the decent thing, and automatically move the Saints and Patriots into the Superbowl before things get more out of hand.

I'd take it, but as with all NFL decisions it would have to be run by the Mannings first.

This may be the worst Pats team since '09. Sunday against the Bengals will be ugly, it's just a question of if it'll be as ugly as tonight was.

Great to see the patriots lose, too many years gutting their roster and tossing their talent aside like they were yesterdays business, about time that strategy came back to bite them in the ass.

No I just hate when teams think they're better than the players who pour their blood sweat and tears for a team and just discard them like cheap cattle. Football is the worst sport to play as far as player safety/benefit ratio, and the fact that none of their contracts are guaranteed. I'd like the patriots a whole lot more if they'd show their players more respect and actually pay their players. If you don't have anyone better to replace the people you are letting go because they want more money for I don't know maybe being a top 5 player at their position the last 5 years, then you deserve everything you got coming to you.

I like Tom Brady and it just seems like the last 5 years they've been slowly gutting all the talent out of their offense and not replenishing it through the draft properly. Yeah he's on the decline but give Peyton, Aaron Rodgers or Brees that talent and they wouldn't do diddly squat either.

Salary cap is jumping 9-15 mil a year, you're telling me you can't give an extra 2-3 mil for your 1-2 pro bowl players for the next 5 years? I especially feel sorry for Tom Brady after did the team a favor and cut out like 10mil in salary cap for them to re-sign Wes Welker and they let him walk lol
