odds were at -9 Giants, which I liked. Last time I checked at -7.5 Giants, which I don't like so much.

Regardless, Go Cards.

The Vikings have had a bunch of really close games this year. Usually, they have gone the Vikings way, but frankly, I think their record suggests that they are better than what they are at this point.

Back to the Saints game, though, I honestly couldn't believe it. They looked like the "Same Old Saints" for most of the first half, and just turned into this super team for the second half, and played amazingly well. I think the main thing was that they settled down and didn't panic in the second half, whereas the Dolphins went away from what worked and looked off. This is the kind of thing that the Patriots would typically do, but not the Saints. Very much excited about the win.

I would like to personally thank the Cards for beating the Giants. Thank you! As an Eagles fan I truly appreciate it. :duff

Hmm someone else said that last week:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl

I am quite pleased with the way my beloved Steelers handled themselves today. It appears that the defense arrived at the game intending to play 4 quarters this time. And although Ben Roethlisberger had a hell of a time passing the football, he did manage 2 touchdowns (one that got called back on a Heath Miller pass interference call), an uninspired, but solid 175 yards of passing, and MOST importantly...no interceptions.

The pass interference call and the Mendenhall fumble (I wonder if Mike Tomlin will punish him for that again as he did earlier in the year) near the goal line appears to have kept it from being 41-17. Some of the credit has to go to Minnesotas punter, though. I'll bet there is a big fat "no steak dinner" waiting for him this week.

I am already hearing that Favre is showing his age because of this game. But I don't think that to be the case. The Steelers defense got after him like that before when he was still Green Bays Golden Boy. And today they really rocked for my fantasy team scoring 23 points for them.

I do have to say that despite the fact that I thought this game would give me some relaxation toward the rest of the schedule, I find myself just as nervous about the next game...at the Broncos. If the Broncos beat the Ravens next week, as I think they will, then that is 2 undefeated teams that the Steelers have to play back-to-back. But they did that before. In 2004 they had a bye on week 7 then beat New England on week 8 and Philadelphia on week 9. Coincidentally, it was the same 3 weeks of the season, 7,8, and 9. The difference being that the bye is between the two games this season instead of before them. And once again, this is presuming the Broncos beat the Ravens.

I am bummed that the Bengals had such a great game. That keeps them 1/2 game in front of the Steelers in the division. But that can all turn around in a weekend. In a worst case scenario, they win the division and the Steelers knock them out of the playoffs as they did after the 2005 Season.

Eagles/Redskins Monday night. Being born and raised in DC suburb, I should be rooting for the skins, but they don't have a chance in hell against the Eagles. They should get the Raiders to put on the Redskins uniforms and play them. ;)

Wow, what a game! By the time halftime rolled around I was in shock! :horror I just couldn't believe what I saw as the Saints could not get hardly anything working on offense, and the "wildcat" was running through our defense for the most part. But, I kept my faith in the Saints like I always do. I kept telling myself that they could pull it off...and they did! :D After being behind most of the game, the Saints came back in the third quarter. They retained their composure, and did NOT just fold up and quit like some Saints teams of the past. They never gave up and kept trying. So, they showed everyone that they could come back from being behind. Great running from Reggie Bush...yeah Bush, and Mike Bell, and Pierre Thomas. Jeremy Shockey coming back in a big way with some great catches for over 100 yards in receiving. Drew Brees scoring two rushing touchdowns, and completing passes that he wasn't completing earlier in the game. Now the Saints are 6-0! Up next on November 2...Monday Night Football against the Atlanta Falcons at home in the Superdome! We'll beat them too. I have faith. :monkey3 GO SAINTS! :D

One of our local TV stations interviewed Johnathan Vilma and he said it was their most impressive win so far! I completely agree with him!

Yeah, but this week's game really put the exclamation point on it--"what if" the other team didn't miss a field goal in the last seconds; "what if" the Vikings had not made that insane touchdown at the last second. It would have looked like this game. Same way, the Vikings could easily have won this week, if just a few little things went the other way. Close games, could have gone either way, so now probabilities are catching up with them. They have been about on par with their opponents in those games.
