Well if that's the case that was kinda smart to try its just that they got caught. The clock was running if he causes them to false start the time run off ends the quarter and they go to OT vs a 48 yd Fg which isn't really that long. M

I don't blame them for trying. As you said... they just got caught. Just this year with kickers and all... it seems like a 48 feels like a 58 anymore. Tough situation to be in from either distance.

I am pretty sure it's not the worst call of the year, the refs view was impeded by Rex and he blew the whistle when EVERYONE thought Brady was going out of bounds.

Its just Karma for NE fans being happy about injured and calling it Karma
