Not because they felt it was right but only because they didn't want the PR hit after the story got worse. If they really cared they would have cut his ass during the year he had to sit out but oh wait they didn't why because they wanted to see how things played out. They can say what they want after the fact but the lack of actions tell the true story.

They still haven't been to the playoffs in a while and Seattle's only division threat right now is Arizona and getting Peyton will keep the Rams down at the bottom. Peyton is NOT an improvement for anyone anymore.

Well.... old noodle arm beat two of those teams.... with a chance to beat the third this Sunday. He is getting carried, but he is doing enough to help his team win.
I think his best bet is to sign with the Jets. Great defense and receivers.

Back to back Super Bowls, I'll take that trade off. And if Flynn (or even Harvin) are the best you got to bad mouth Seattle then I think I'm ok with it. Every team is going to miss but I'll can counter that with Bennett, Avril and Marshawn.
What I was trying to say was that teams who want to get to the top and stay on top build for the present and future and also know when to dump their mistakes and anyone thinking Manning is going to lead them anywhere next season is a fool. I hope Peyton throws for 500 yards and 6 TD's on Sunday... but he is done... and if Cleveland or LA want to add him to their illustrious lists of QB's in the last 10 years good for them but they can't be upset when they go 5-11 and are drafting another QB in the 1st round next year.

My point is a few years of good teams doesn't put them close to some of teams you wanted to include them in.
Peyton could be a stop gap. We all agree there isn't much in FA or even the draft so why not bring him in for a year or two to get a later pick some time. You know kind like they planned to do with Wilson and Flynn. Except Flynn had two good games Manning has one bad year out of what 20?

I guess we’ll see. I think he is retiring but if not there is no way in hell he would go to Cleveland or LA or any team that can’t get him back to a Super Bowl next year.
