Yeah but Kap didn't spend years getting beat to death on bad 9ers teams. All players get gunshy after that kind of treatment. Many good QBs are ruined by bad being drafted by bad teams. Anyone who truly think that Rodgers would be the same on the 9ers had they drafted him are dreaming.
Joe Montana was drafted by a bad team yet he won a superbowl the year following a 6-10 record with basically the same roster. He was blasted in 1980, his first year as a starter, he was absolutely demolished, always on his back, bloody noses and all. Back in those days they didn't protect the QB, way different then it was when Alex Smith was playing. Why wasn't Joe ruined?

Alex wasn't ruined it just took him a long time to learn the pro style offense, he wouldn't be in the league now doing what he is doing during the regular season if he was ruined. Again the problem with Alex is he is not a physically gifted QB, he doesn't have great accuracy on long throws and is always looking to check down or bail out when the pressure gets tough. He doesn't read the blitz or get rid of the ball fast enough most of the time. Alex is a game manager QB that is all, he cannot single handedly will his team to win with gutsy play, he is not like the elite QB's in the league
