What Giants are doing to Eli is ridiculous. Let him play out the season and then cut or trade him in the off season if they don't want him anymore. Geno Smith is not the answer to any football related question. Benching Eli for Geno is a bad joke. Anyone who thinks this is a good idea in the Giants organization should be fired.

Yep. I hate for ownership to get involved, but if I were the Maras, I'd have a talk with McAdoo and Reese.

Having said, that Deadspin reported that it was Manning that took himself out of the starting line up.

Not sure how accurate the report is, but it says

Manning apparently chose not to start this weekend of his own volition, as he realized that the Giants’ season is basically cooked, and that not starting would be less sad than starting for a few plays and giving way to Smith:

“Coach McAdoo told me I could continue to start while Geno and Davis are given an opportunity to play,” Manning said. “My feeling is that if you are going to play the other guys, play them. Starting just to keep the streak going and knowing you won’t finish the game and have a chance to win it is pointless to me, and it tarnishes the streak. Like I always have, I will be ready to play if and when I am needed. I will help Geno and Davis prepare to play as well as they possibly can."

If true, that changes the perception of this somewhat.

I'm thinking maybe a reunion with Coughlin in Jacksonville. That team would be scary with a half competent QB.

That would make more sense. Denver might be on the way down and Jacksonville is on the way up.

Absolutely. I'd definitely pick Jax over Denver at this point. Jax is a legit QB away from being a dangerous contender.

whoever was responsible for not telling the HC to challenge that forward lateral in the Eagles game......fire that SOB.

Man, what the hell was Gronkowski thinking? He doesn't have a history of being dirty, but that was a dirty play.

Saints had an excellent showing yesterday. They benefited from many dropped passes by the Panthers, but Brees was back to form after taking a week off. And this is without their two starting DBs, one of whom is in consideration for defensive rookie of the year.
