You really think Brees has the career he had in SD? Bree’s had not been all that great in SD, that’s why spent a #1 pick on Rivers. He beat out Rivers and had an great season. The next year he was good but not great and then had a devastating shoulder injury to end the season that many believed he would not recover from. He was a free agent any only two teams were interested and even the front runner to get him passed. NO was his only shot and somehow it worked out. Also it’s not Rivers has been a bust.

Also just found this, they are much closer than even I believed.

I never implied that Rivers wasn’t worth it, I was just saying that SD made their choice , but it irks me that they thought thought Brees was damaged goods after his shoulder surgery and let him go.

But it worked out for the best for both Brees and Chargers in the end

But every team but one considered him damaged goods. What teams QBs from then are still producing? Pats, Steelers,Giants and Chargers. Even really only two other teams could say we made the right choice not picking him up to be a starter, Colts and Packers.

I hope this season convinces them to get a quality QB in the offseason once and for all , no matter how far they go this season
