People hype up the Pats but they are not the team they were 2-3 years ago. Saints are in a different league.

Like I said before p!tu...an epic Super Bowl for me would be your Colts against my Saints! And, oh yeah, the Saints win! :D

John Carney just missed a field goal...but that's okay.

It's still 38-17! :D

Hmmmmm......what's this! Tom Brady pulled out of the game with 4:05 left in the game?

Am I seeing things? They got a rookie QB in now! I guess Belichick has really given up on winning this game now huh?!

epic superbowl baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :rock

I will bet that either the Colts or the Saints get knocked out of the playoffs. Not because either is an overrated team, but just because "any given Sunday" seems to usually step in at some point and wipe out the expected Superbowl match-up. They SHOULD be in it together. And I would LOVE to see two undefeated teams go head-to-head in the the Big Game. But I am betting against it. And that is to say that I am just betting that there will not be two undefeated teams in the Superbowl.

The Saints and the Colts are not gonna go undefeated all the way to the bowl. It's funny that people would even consider it. Do you know how hard that is? One team has done it... Dolphins. 18-1 PATS anyone? (i mean it could happen, but odds are against it)

Like you said any given Sunday (thats why it's dumb to make SB predictions this early):lol

I agree, although I gotta say the Saints have a better shot with their remaining schedule.

It's all about injury's.

If key people stay healthy who knows. What if Bree's got hurt? What if Manning went down? Favre? Peterson?

John Carney just missed a field goal...but that's okay.
I disagree. It is inexcusable to miss kicks like that. And he damn near missed another short kick and extra point earlier tonight. There's a reason we cut his sorry ass a couple years ago. I've never understood why they would re-sign him.

For those who don't know or remember, a couple years back the Saints were down by 7 and on the last play of the game threw a bunch of laterals ending up actually scoring as time expired in an awesome play. Then, Carney came up and missed the extra point, game over, Saints lose by one. Ultimately, I don't think it mattered for the season in the grand scheme of things, but damn!

When that happens, you fire the sorry bastard and do not re-hire him later on.

Technically, BOTH teams have undefeated-friendly schedules. So if they are both patient and careful...it is a lot closer to possible than it ever has been in History. And I believe they SHOULD both go undefeated.

And having said that...I still maintain my opinion that it won't happen.

I remain optimistic about my team! Sure going undefeated is VERY hard, but it can be done, and has been done. The Pats did it in 2007. But lost the Super Bowl that year.

Oh yeah! Now...it's OVER!

The Saints WIN! 38-17!
:D :banana

Brees is no John Fourcade or Billy Joe Hobert, but he'll do.

You're joking...I know. Yeah, I guess he's a little better than Jeff Blake, a Jim Everett transferred from the Rams, Heath Shuler, Danny Weurfell, Aaron Brooks....or even Bobby Hebert (He's still one of my favorite Saints QBs).

[BC'MON! DREW BREES IS THE GREATEST QB WE'VE EVER HAD...AND YOU KNOW IT! [/B] :bow :D

Behind the great "Mr. Automatic" Morten Andersen, John Carney was one of our most consistent kickers. Lately I don't know what's wrong with him missing the easy ones. He's not a "sorry ass" kicker. I don't know why you say that. The only other kicker we have is Garrett Hartley, who has already been caught with a restricted substance in his blood stream, and was benched by the N.F.L. I am happy to see John Carney back. Even though he is not as consistent as he used to be when he originally played with the Saints.

Just because the "any given Sunday" thing is out there does NOT mean it is going to happen. So many of you seem pessimistic about any team having a perfect, unbeaten season. I am not going to be that way. I will always stay optimistic, and hope for the best for my Saints! Sure the perfect season would be great! Why not hope for it for your team? That is what I am doing now. Always have. Even when we were a losing team, at the end of the season I'd catch myself saying "there's always next season", and then hope and pray for the best. Sure I am unrealistic about it, but that doesn't mean I am not going to keep looking forward to the undefeated season. Even if the Saints lose one game, and win their remaining four games...they will make it to the playoffs.

I agree with the ideal that Saints have held on to this year. One game at a time. They're not screaming "black and gold Super Bowl", even after most of their fans out there are right now. Especially after beating the Pats so soundly tonight. I know now the Saints are thinking...who's next? The Redskins, that's who. :D

In the end it is not important if they are undefeated. Even if they lose one game they will still make it to the playoffs at 11-1, 12-1, 13-1, 14-1, or 15-1. The important thing is that the Saints get to the playoffs, and win the N.F.C. Championship. Then, make it to the Super Bowl and win it!

Man, I don't know what you mean by being consistent. I've seen just about every Saints game he's kicked in, and I can say unequivocally that Carney is a bum. He has some real ability to kick the ball (I think he went to the pro bowl with some team after we cut him), but he's getting up there in age (not as big a deal for kickers as others, but still a factor that may be impacting his game) and most importantly, he's mentally weak, which is a big no-no for a kicker.

He is paid well to do a single thing--kick a ball through the uprights. If he can't do that with far better than average consistency, then I'm betting that there are plenty of unsigned and undrafted kickers out there who would love to get a shot. Hell, take any random rugby or soccer player, and with a little training they can probably do it better than Carney. Carney is way too shaky.

I'll just say this--if you are gonna defend him now, don't complain when the Saints lose a playoff game by two points because Carney missed a 20 yarder as time expires. He has had his chance, and he's already blown it in my opinion. Football games can be won or lost by the slightest factor, and having a kicker who misses "gimmes" and extra points from time to time is not acceptable.

Great, the Dolphins get to play the Patriots next week just after they got beat down. :sick

Not that they deserve anything better after that PoS performance vs BUF. :banghead

Other than being impressed by a great Saints performance last night, all I could think about was how stupid the Dolphins have been.

All three of these last coaches were idiots but the main point is below...

Wannstedt. Take LB Eddie Moore rather than Anquan Boldin who was the top rated player on their board when their pick was up.

Saban. Take Culpepper and give up a 2nd Round Pick over Brees as a FA.

Cameron (& GM Mueller). Let Wes Welker go to the Pats.

I can only cry when I think that the offense could have had Brees throwing to Boldin and Welker instead of Henne thowing to Ginn and Camarillo. :banghead :duh :monkey2

Oh and Tedd Ginn, go ???? yourself!

Oh and I'm not a Florida fan but FU Nick Saban. Go Gators.
