Again, the Cowboys did as you say and had some long drives in the 3rd and 4th quarter, and they deserve credit for that (not that putting together long drives against the Saints D is particularly difficult--the Redskins and backups in Atlanta did the same). But the Saints offense is better than that and should have scored much more frequently than they did. The offensive gameplay precluded that, in my opinion.. Their defense is playing as pitifully as anyone at this point in the year. So, the offense has to win the games, period, and becoming 1-dimensional won't work against even a half-way competent NFL defense, I don't care if you are Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, or Drew Brees.
The Saints MUST call some better plays. I agree that in the last 3 to 4 games that the play calling is not what it was like in the firt 8 to 9 games of the season. I really don't know what is going on in coach Payton's mind. I hope that after looking at the game tape that a big improvement in play calling will happen when they play the Bucs at home next Sunday. They should beat them, and the lowly Panthers.
Panthers were giving the Vikings a good game so far. I don't know what's happened now. I hope they beat the Vikings. That would help the Saints go ahead of the Vikings in the N.F.C. by another game.
