i don't think you can break a funk by NOT playing.
Exactly, hell the only team that seems to rest is players before playoff and bye week is the Colts and the only year won the SB they didnt rest there players, yet they still do it.

Watch out p!tu, here comes Buffalo!!!! :horror :horror :lol

Peterson fumbles again ...... yikes. :sick

:monkey2:monkey2:monkey2

Thanks for the support in this trying time.:lol

No problem, bro!

Here's a Viking Warrior for you...

:rock :rock :rock

They have the offensive talent to beat any team in the playoffs, including the ballyhooed Chargers, Colts, and Eagles, but they need to get their head straight, and Sean Payton needs to remember what got them here. I don't think the starters potentially getting embarrassed by Carolina next week will help that.

I don't think they will play either of those teams in the playoffs. :lol :lecture

1 rule fits all? No way. Especially considering the Vikings second half momentum and that you have a HOF quarterback and 1 of the best RBs in the game.

I would have taken the risk and go for the win right there. It comes down to common sense to me. The right thing to do would have been to take advantage of a tired defense and punch it in with AP. Instead they elect to give the Bears defense a breather, risk the coin toss, etc.

Even if the Vikings had won the flip they probably need to drive 50-60 yards just to give their kicker a shot at a 45 yard field goal. To do that you need to average at least 3.33 yard per down for 10-20 plays.

Seems more likely that you can score from the 2 with AP or a bootleg with Favre than sustain a 10-20 play drive against a now rested defense.

It's just the general rule coaches use. Some coaches are bigger gamblers than others....but everyone knows Childress has no balls....Brett has them in his pocket.:lol So I'm sure it was Brett's decision to tie the game and try to win it in overtime. I guess in his old age he forgot one thing: Peterson has butter fingers.:rotfl

LOL! Let me understand this correctly. Trash talkin' coming from a Raiders fan? How's your team working out? How's JaMarcus Russell doing?

:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl

Son, please commence the trash talkin' when you have a team that can back you up.:rotfl

That's right, a Raiders fan trash talking....it's all I've got this year. Oh, besides wins over playoff teams from Philly, Cincy and possibly Denver and Pittsburgh. Every team goes through a rebuilding phase...ours is just taking a little longer than the average.:lol

As for Russell, I think the fact that he didn't get into the Browns game after Frye threw 2 INTs and was sacked numerous times tells me Crazy Azz Al is finally willing to cut bait.

Now to see if we can end this year like last year....and dash another team's playoff hopes.:monkey1

In the NFC, If Philadelphia beats Dallas, I bet they'll make it to the Super Bowl. Even if they don't, I wouldn't count them out. Also feeling some love for Arizona as long as they don't have to play in Philadelphia.

In the AFC, the best thing that will happen to the Colts is New England getting the #3 seed. That means NE will play SD in the 2nd round of the playoffs and the Colts will have to only beat one of them to play in the Super Bowl. I don't think the Colts would beat both NE and SD in the same playoff year. But I'm still leaning towards the winner of the NE at SD game making it to the Super Bowl.

Is that the 8 year rebuilding process?:lol The Raiders will never field another winning team with Al Davis in charge.:lol

Russel? What was that, $32 million in guaranteed money?:rotfl

I saw that on the ESPN main page.:lol

San Diego and the Eagles in the Super Bowl.

Adrian Peterson is the fatal flaw in your arguement. The majority of us die-hard Vikings' fans know that over the past six weeks our offense has come to a grinding halt when AP gets the ball. I know he just gained 94 yards yesterday but they were mostly empty yards. He's become gun shy at the line when getting the ball. Granted, our offensive line is over rated but AP doesn't rattle off 20, 30, 40 yard gains anymore. In fact, he has too many 1, 2 and even negative yard runs. It's obvious he's lost some confidence.......and I don't even have to get into his fumbling issues.

This use to be a run to open up the pass offense. Now it's become a pass to open up the run offense.

This was year 7. And if Al had pulled the plug on Russell earlier, we could have easily been 8-8, but he didn't and we're not.

The time is coming. Most of the people in the league have said it's better for the NFL when the Raiders are good/competitive....everyone loves to hate the bad guy.:lol

Russel? What was that, $32 million in guaranteed money?:rotfl

Pretty much. But I think it pales in comparison to some other moves in NFL history. One that comes to mind is the Vikings trading for Herschel Walker.:horror

I saw that on the ESPN main page.:lol

That's where I "borrowed" it from.:monkey3

Hey, my three favorite teams growing up in the 70s were the "Purple People Eaters," the "Orange Crush" and the Raiders led by Ken "the snake" Stabler.:rock

The worst trade in sports history.:lol
