I think there definitely is more to this, probably even more than just the fight he had with the unofficial OC Bill O'Brien Monday.

As big of a Pats homer as I can be, I don't think they were getting close to the SB this year. I think BB didn't want to have a toxic personality somewhat like what Adalius Thomas was last year to negatively influence the young guys on the team.

This team needs guys like Mayo to step up and be leaders like Bruschi, Vrabel, and Rodney were.

I think it would have payed dividends to that D to try and keep Vrabel there, especially with Bruschi and Harrison retiring.

With this one move I think the Jets are definitely looking like the team to beat in the AFC East now.

They're the most complete team in the division right now, especially with Sanchez progressing as he has in the last few weeks.

Overall the AFC seems to be leaning towards the Steelers. With Roethlisberger's return they should get right back on track.

I completely agree on that. I think moving Vrabel came from on high. Robert Kraft didn't take kindly to Vrabel's comments about the building of Patriot Place.

Yeah, not to be a homer, but I can't help but feel that if Ben had been in there the past month they'd 1) be 4-0 and 2) have completely slaughtered their opponents. Here's hoping they don't let the hype get the better of them.

I think if they can keep the core group of guys they have now then they'll be a force in 3-5 years, but how effective will Brady be then (if he's stll around)?

His window is starting to close unfortunately for them. If the young guys progress enough maybe they have a shot in that time frame. I'd be content if they can squeeze one more SB in the next 5 years and he can go out like Elway.

Since the last SB it's just been a mess though from the debacle in Denver, the choke in Indy, Black Sunday SB42, the ACL injury, and then last year's early exit.

Sometimes I get greedy and wonder what his legacy would have been....

Well the Vikes AT the PATS game just got more interesting.

I just noticed it's on FOX. I really hope for no Joe Buck, unless he gets all indignant when Moss scores his fourth touchdown of the game and moons the crowd.:lol

Thank you for that one:yess::yess::yess:

Thank Champ Bailey. If Brady completes a TD in the red zone there the face of the game completely changes.

What a terrible game from Brady that day was. Then there was the fun of Willie McGinest and Vrabel almost coming to blows on the sidelines.:ohbfrank:

Ya know, looking back now, that game might have been the start of the end for the GREAT Patriots team. Sure, they've had some regular season success, but they were never just that force in the play-offs after that. I mean that game in San Diego in 06 was handed over on a silver platter, and then of course SBXLII after going 18-0. Once again, thanks for that, because the Pats owned my Steelers before that. 04 was easy enough to swallow with a rookie QB and all, but 01 left a bad taste in Steelers Nations' mouth. Thanks special teams!

Are they signing him to an extension as a part of the deal?

I doubt it, they were saying how a lot of Vikings are on final year of contract. I have a feeling with the unknown labor deal for next year , an OLD QB who you have no idea about for next year lots of last year deals this is win now or bust.

There's plenty of an idea about Favre next year. He's NOT coming back.

(I believe it this time)

Still can't believe this was for a 3rd rounder. Moss will be playing against the Jets, not really enough time to get into sync with the offense but we'll see.

Hope Vikes hang in there till Rice gets back. (Moss SHOULD help bigtime)

Both of those guys healthy+ Harvin, Shiancoe, Berrian, Peterson = NO EXCUSES.

Yeah 3rd seems like not much but somehow the Pats will turn that into 2-3 picks for another year, right now they have 2 picks in round 1-4.

This is the way i see the Moss dealio.

Favre looks deep, Moss is open, CAUGHT! 10 5 TD!

Or

Favre looks deep, Moss is open, INTERCEPTION!

(all in all though a good deal, will free up AP more)

The safeties will have to play deep because of Moss, which will open up the run game for Peterson more. Wes Welker catching short passes across the middle was basically the Pats running game, so Welker's numbers will probably go down and Peterson's should go up. Even if Moss's stats don't show it, his very prescence affects a game. Without Moss the Pats don't go undefeated in the 07 regular season and Brady doesn't throw 50 TDs (23 to Moss, single-season record) and become League MVP. Moss SHOULD HAVE BEEN League MVP that season, but Brady was the pretty poster boy so he got it.

I've been hearing RUMORS of Pats going after VJ now. Course i'm sure that's all they are.:dunno

I think for what the Chargers want for Jackson that the Pats could pay 2 of their young receivers, plus Jackson wouldn't be allowed to play until mid-season because of his hold out. I don't think any team is going to touch him this season, including the Chargers.
