Yeah, yesterday the '84 Niners were wining by like 64% to 36%, and same with the '85 Bears beating the '76 Raiders, and then I get on today to check any new news of interest and saw those two in the final round and just was bewildered.
Yes, I definitely agree some fan bases were encouraging others to get on there and vote, and multiple times at that, to I guess add some legitimacy to those two teams. Fact of the matter is, those are not even close to the top 2 teams of all time. Ravens fans always bring up the defensive stats for that season, but never mention that not one QB that team faced that season will ever even be hired to sell tickets to Canton, let alone have a bust in it. Then again, they swear up and down that that team is an expansion team and that the Browns did not relocate there. So, if they say the sky is blue, look out your window. Yeah, that was a good D that season, but no offense with Trent Dilfer can ever be considered the greatest team of all time. For the '76 Raiders, all I have to say is roughing the passer against the Pats in the play offs. That's why a true Raiders fan should ever _____ about the tuck rule game.
I rarely, if ever, turn on the NFL network anymore because it's such a joke, but the one time I did a few nights ago they were talking about that bracket like it was some huge, legitimate news in the sports world. That's why that channel will never be considered a legitimate sports talk channel, and the #1 reason is Rich Eisen. That dude knows jack squat about the 1 sport his life literally revolves around, and he just tries to add stupid little comments to add onto the end of a discussion between people that actually know what they're talking about, thinking he's funny. He's worse than Dennis Miller was when he tried being in the broadcasting booth, but at least he had some knowledge of the game.
For me, top 3 teams of all time are '85 Bears, '84 49ers and '79 Steelers. Maybe my #3 pick is a little homer, but there is some legitimacy to my picking it at least.
