Are they thinking that's going to help prevent concusions or something? Of all the rules that should be changed to truly protect players more- outlaw cut blocks, and that cheap BS when tailbacks roll into a pass rusher's knees- and they come up with this crap? What's next, is the blitzer going to have to count to 5 Mississippi before he can blitz?

Roger Goodell is up to his knees in lawsuits. Here's the latest one....

"The contentious relationship between the NFL and the NFL Players Association continued Wednesday when the union filed a federal lawsuit alleging that the league and its owners conspired in collusion to establish a "secret $123 million salary cap" in 2010, which under the previous labor agreement was designated as an uncapped year of spending."

Looks like the NFLPA is pissed that 4 teams got penalized in cap spending. The Redskins and Cowboys got hit hard at $36 million and $10 million.

The NFLPA is seeking $1 billion in damages.

Despite the drama, I am looking forward to the 2012 season like I have not looked forward to a season for some time. And that is quite substantial considering that I am always jonesing for the next season to start.

But I have an impatience for this season to get going that I haven't felt for 7 or 8 years.

I am getting chills just reading about the first of the OTAs at Pittsburgh.

It was great to see that Hines Ward got recognized by the state of Pennsylvania, as well.

I'm just waiting for the NFLPA to say that owners banded together to not sign other team's RFAs.

I had a lot of respect for Vilma before all of this, but now he's showing he's no better than any of these other self-centered thugs plaguing the NFL. I can't stand it when these guys knowingly violate rules and then throw a big hissy fit when they get caught with their hand in the cookie jar. And that's exactly right- how many people is he going to throw under the bus so he can look out for #1? Classless freaking punk!

Vilma restructured his contract so it would benefit the Saints. Under his old contract he was set to make close to 8 million but under his new one he was set to make 3.5 to 4 million. So after he helped out the Saints and did what he was told to do he's the one that gets the most punishment. You would have to be a retard not to sue. He's not throwing anybody under the bus. What an ignorant post.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion on the matter. My opinion is he's throwing people under the bus to look out for himself.

And you're ignorant for assuming my post is ignorant. There, that's my opinion. Now you want to go back and quote everyone's posts that had this same opinion and openly say they're ignorant as well, or did you just feel the need to do that with mine?

Apparently the cut in salary didn't prevent him from putting up a 10k bounty. Goodell had enough information to nail his ass. People have choices in life and he chose wrong. And what does his salary cut have to do with anything?

Seriously, STFU for once and before you dig deep for the ignorance card, pull up a mirror.

Vilma isn't a classless freaking punk by any means. Show me where Vilma has ever been suspended by the NFL for injuring another player? He's one of the cleanest players in the NFL. Just because he is looking out for his own self when the Saints have turned their back on him makes him a classless freaking punk? Geez. The Saints were investigated for several years and not once did they let the players know "hey guys, we're being investigated for our bounty program so we need to put an end to it now." None of that happened. Several players have gone on record of it. Including Darren Sharper. Instead they left the players in the dark and kept on running a system they knew was wrong. The Saints got a $500,000 fine. Vilma will lose close to $4 million. Um. Let's see? What doesn't add up?

More will come in the next week or so.

4/20/2012: Signed a two-year, $9.3 million contract. The deal included a $1 million signing bonus. Annual $100,000 offseason workout bonuses are available in each year. 2012: $1.6 million (+ $600,000 roster bonus), 2013: $4.8 million (+ $1.1 million roster bonus), 2014: Free Agent

Putting up money to hurt other players is classless plain and simple. A millionaire taking a paycut doesn't get a pat on the back from me or shouldn't from most folks. Now, do I think the Saints should get hammered harder? Yes, I do but Vilma isn't in the right at all.
