I hear you. I felt the same before XLI. Felt like an eternity from XX to that point. :lol

It took Childress a couple of seasons to turn things around, so Frazier's in line to do something with these guys this season! :rock

Lowered expectations means....

Translation: "I want to bask in the 2-week glory between the NFC Championship game and the Super Bowl." :lol

Shush, we don't utter the name Childress around these parts. :lol

Man the Eagles coaching staff should just fire themselves. :slap

You have one of the best if not the best running back in the league. You dont use him. You have success making short passes (vick 3 step drop). You spent the whole game figuring that out. You get the ball in overtime and go back to the long drops you were doing at the beginning when Vick was getting creamed. What happend? He got creamed.

You spend most of the game not blitzing and doubling the recievers. This one blows my ****ing mind. In overtime you START TO BLITZ! You ****ing morons! :slap

The Eagles need a better coach. This team should be playing like the Steelers. They should be running the ball and working in some play action. Short slant routes (using the teams speed) to get down field. Same old Andy. He's gone next year.

Enough for separation to get the TD. Even if they called OPI there was the 12 men penalty and they would have replayed the down. Dallas would be pretty good with discipline and the right coaching. Earlier they had 2 illegal shift calls in a row. How does a professional team do that?:monkey1

^THIS. :exactly:

Not only that, this is the second year in a row that Jason Garrett EFFED up clock management (last year in a loss at Arizona).

He does know that head coaches can call time out on the sidelines, right?

3 trips inside the red zone and 3 FGs for the Vikes. That's not going to get the job done.

Yeah, I was watching that game and I was shaking my head. They should have been up 21 -0.

FINAL
Minnesota....26
Washington..38

1. If you want to be taken seriously as an NFL threat, you can't lose games to less than average teams.

2. This bad loss offsets that great 49ers win.

3. Ponder took a step back. Also, one of the worst INTs for a TD that I've ever seen.

4. Come back to me if you win against Arizona and Tampa Bay in the next two weeks before I give this team the nod.

Minny should have crushed the 'Skins, but they came back to make a game of it. That counts for something. RGIII just made an incredible play at the end. Sometimes, ***** happens. :dunno

That's true to an extent. It's frustrating as a fan to see your team leave plays on the field.

When you come upon an unexpected start to the season at 4-1, you also raise the bar and project ahead at future potential. Right or wrong it's human nature.

Early wins in the first half of the season are credits in the bank in case things go wrong later. Sure, it's one loss but you can't afford to play down to the level of your competition and not expect to get burned by it.

Having said that, all is good if the Vikes beat Arizona and Tampa Bay. :lol

Welcome to my world. I knew when Oakland failed to score a TD on the first 2 redzone chances it would come back to hurt. Atlanta did everything they could to give Oakland the game yesterday.

But at least I got to change my avatar back this week :p

True. If I had any vested interest in the game, I probably would have had a different opinion. :lol

I live in the Washington, DC area, but by no means am I a Washington fan.

General NFL fan (with the exception of Washington and the crap that Daniel Snyder does to his fan base year in and year out) , but yes, I am a sadomachosist and watch the Cowboys frustrate he hell out of me year in and year out.

There are some owners in sports you can look at and say "that team will never win a ring with that guy in charge." Daniel Snyder and Peter Angelos (Orioles) are two examples.

Play of the Year, locked up.

I'll have to disagree, maybe bone-headed play of the year. That punter needed to swat that ball out of the end zone or covered it up for the safety. Better to give up two points and play D than to give up six.

That punter went Garo Yepremian on the play. :lol

^^^

The AFC is weak this year.

And I agree. I think it's wide open. I think at this point Baltimore is at the top. If I had to pick 1 in the AFC

So does anyone have a real read on the AFC right now? To me this conference looks wide open right now.

Not at all.

Prior to last night, I would have to say Houston.

I mean, the Pats are clearly the class of the AFC East, but I would still wonder how they would fare in the playoffs.

Likewise, the Texans are the class of the AFC South, but let's see if Matt Schaub can stay healthy.

AFC Central has three legit playoff teams: Baltimore looks good at times, but they've probably lost Ladarius Webb and Ray Lewis for the season; Pittsburgh, who's age on defense looks to catching up to them; and upstart Cincinnatti, who could be explosive offensively, but then loses a game to Cleveland.

I dunno about the AFC West, I'll get back to you after tonight's game. It's clearly between Denver and San Diego, but besides Manning, what does Denver have? Von Miller and Champ Bailey are stalwarts on defense, but the whole of the defense is not particularly frightening. Demariyus Thomas looks like he could be a stud receiver, but he's still inconsistent. As for San Diego, I'm sorry, I can't trust Norv as a head coach.

Having said that, if I had to objectively pick someone to represent the AFC, I'd say Houston at this point. Good QB, great RB, stud receiver, strong defense.

im really hoping Denver defense shows up tonight, especially on third downs. except for a few denver fumbles the offense has been good. but denver cant give up those long third down conversions that they have been doing. broncos schedule does get easier after their bye so hopefully they get a win here to be tied for first in AFC West.
