Considering how bad we wiped Ottawa all those years with their 1st overall pick Chris Phillips and the list of other great players that were on the team at the time, we've had some exciting hockey here.

Leafs are rebuilding, what is there not to get about that?, they are the youngest team in the NHL. Just because a team gets first overall does not mean the player is going to turn that team around any time soon, hello!! John Tavares?. It will take time for any of these picks to find their game in the NHL, maybe even years.

No, Toronto does not suck.

John Tavares is a rookie teenager fresh out of Junior with everyone and their momma riding on him. He has zero help. 54 points isn't bad. Look at Steven Stamkos... followed up his 46 point effort with 51 goals. Now, I am not saying Tavares will follow suit, but many 1st/2nd overall picks usually find their game sooner rather than later.

We all know Toronto is rebuilding, but if we're using that logic, then why trade a bunch of 1st round picks, including a 2nd overall pick for a young player who is made of glass? :)

btw Taylor Hall and Tyler Seguin's upsides are higher than Phil Kessel's. Someone should have known that. Guess Burkie didn't do much thinkin'.

In a way your right, no first round picks are locks for success and that the gamble Burke took. The problem is being in the Loserville market, if Hall or Seguin become stars, people will always remember the trade for what they lost instead of gained.

Teams usually go on the best available talent opposed to need. I wouldn't be surprised if Edmonton takes Hall. You guys are worried about Seguin being a centerman and having too much depth, well guess what. With the cap being it is sooner or later one of your centermen will be moved, and I am thinking with Bergeron's concussion history and the fact he'll be an FA soon, it will be Patrice who will walk.

Also, it's not the first time a natural centerman changes their position. Look at Horton. He's a winger, who used to be a centerman. :)

It happens. I think Edmonton goes with Hall. You always draft the best player over necessity.

Okay, I'll hold off on my authentic Hall jersey just yet. Besides, I don't think #4 is coming out of the rafters.:lol

I couldn't disagree more about Bergeron. He's the next PJ Axelsson for this team and expect him to be around for years to come. Once Chara's contract is over and if not before, I wouldn't be shocked to see the C on his sweater. Bonus points for being from Québec City which is so much cooler than Montréal.:lol

Who wants a guy who is a big question mark for the future though? He hasn't been the same since his major concussion sans Eric Lindros. You easily maintain a guy who's going to be an FA soon with all those problems over a Norris caliber defenseman, a heart and soul character, a dominating giant who physically is a Juggernaut?!

FOR FRIG SAKES MAN YOU'RE NUTS!

Yea and Boston was the second lowest scoring team in the league this year. Getting this pick will help but, don't say the Leafs suck.

I think the Leafs in 2-3 years will be a much better team then Boston for sure.

Dude, Leafs SUCK so bad, how can you not see this?

MAYBE in the three years they will be in the playoffs.

What will be different next year?

Hold on before you revoke my Canadian passport for this hockey faux pas and being nuts.

I don't have a problem with keeping Chara, and would welcome it, but it's going to be a close call with the cap numbers when it comes time.

As for heart and soul, nobody on the Bruins exemplifies it more than Patrice Bergeron. Maybe it's my blind devotion because I follow this team day in and day out, and he's become my binky on the team. Plays like the one in this video exemplify his play to me.

Maybe he hasn't become the sniper people around here for hopeful for 6 years ago, but I'm happy with him on my team.

GO SENS GO!!!

I want to see both the Sens and Habs knock the Pens and Washington out in the first round.

Nah, i just want to see some Canadian teams go deep this year.

I am also rooting for San Jose and Chicago.

5-4 but I am not upset because that was a close game. If we had a better goalie in between the pipes we would have won that.

Crappy flower!

Can't blame it all on the goalie. Couple odd bounces accounted for 2 of the goals. Our D need to figure out who the hell they need to be accounting for down low and stop standing still. You are right though the last one by Ruutu should have been routine. I have confidence in this team and think they will no doubt come out and dominate the next game. Guerin is going to me an ulcer before the playoffs are over. I like the guy, but sheesh Id much rather have Dupuis on the top line or PP at this point..
