This series has been CRAZY!! The Canucks win nail-bitters at home, and the Bruins lay down serious butt-kickings at home. Something's gonna give in game 7, and I can't wait to watch it!! I don't even care who wins, this game is going to be awesome!!!

GO PENS!!! (next season, of course)

Bi polar eh Eli? Something you would know about?!!

Lu sucks. Period. He has a day or two that's good. But if the Canucks don't work their ***** off, he cant save a puck it seems. At least not in this last series.

Canucks scrape by with a win, they get 1 goal. Boston makes the Canucks eat the goals, getting 4 or more. So I think BuffBuff is completely on the mark.

Everyone says how good the Canucks are, yada yada. Well, they played Boston what? 1 time during the season, and they lost. So if they don't play every team more often than once, how are we supposed to know who the better team really is?

SO FAR, it's Boston. And they deserve the cup. I wont be sad if the Canucks pull a win out of their arses, but doesn't mean they deserve it.

And Lu needs to stay off the ice. He lets one past him and he gets all sad for himself and can't do jack ____ the rest of the time. He's such a baby! And the rest of the team doesn't work hard enough. Or they would have won.

Something I should know about? Really mature way to start off an argument! Oh, "I should know about that." I said she was being a bi-polar fan, not that she's actually bi-polar, but if you want to go there, then have fun with that. A bi-polar fan is a fan who has extreme up and downs. I either say this team is done or I say we'll go all the way. I am neither bi-polar or turn hot or cold on my team. Maybe you forgot (convenient!), when everyone was saying fire Dan Blysma or get rid of Marc-Andre Fleury this past Fall I stood by both and they turned it around. I have a thing called patience and sometimes that pays off, which it did. Thank you! I simply say that was a bad game, but realize that these players (talking about the Canucks now) are good and they can win it. I have always said this team could win it and I haven't changed my mind on that.

Also, I understood why the Pens lost and was proud of their outcome despite losing in 7 games after going 3-1 to start the series. Having at one point 5 guys out of your top 3 didn't help matters.

You guys have just been like really hot or cold with Vancouver. If they win you're like WOOHOO!!! Love this team, when they lose, you guys say eff this team we won't win the Cup. Just sayin'. I think the Canucks played well after pulling out Luongo in net. They played a 2-2 game after that point. It shows an improvement from being blasted 12-1 in Games 3 and 4 combined. I sometimes look for the positives, in which case I am doing right now because it's too easy to say the Canucks lost 5-2. I came to expect a big loss only because that is how this series played out. I said this series will be won by the home teams and so far I am right on the money there (oh why didn't I put money down?) and I still believe that to be the case. By that very logic, I am saying that I believe the Canucks will have their first Cup in their 40 year history this Wednesday. If not, well, you can't be right all the time. Just as long as you're right more than everyone else. ;)

P.S. Never said I was mature either, I am just not a bi-polar fan. Well, the NHL thing was adjusting so you can't use that on me. I still rather pay 20 bucks a game to see an AHL game behind the glass then pay nearly 60 bucks a game in the upper bowl, and it's sad my father won't go to games with me now based on that principal (has to have good seats), but I am swept by the NHL excitement and knowing I am locked in for the hottest ticket in town. It was either get into a season package or be left out in the cold... and there isn't much to do during a cold bitter Winnipeg Winter. So I had to get over it and fast, and that's for the best.

I love you two girls, so don't get that confused. I just tire of that type of fan, the one that is on and off based on their team and going based on the way they are playing at that moment. Or the extreme, it's over and we're done. Or I hate this team when they lose by a fair margin. Maybe it's just emotional responses, like when a friend pisses us off and we say I hate that bastard, then turn around and realize it was just thoughts felt in the heat of the moment. I have done that. I more-so tire of the Lu-Lu-Lu when Luongo wins chants to the Luongo sucks when he losses. It seems to be a common thing amongst fans concerning the guy and it's not fair or right. I say the guy is good and I am not even a fan. Never have been. Heck, even though it's unprecedented to see a guy pulled out as many games as he has in these playoffs he is 1 win away from a Stanley Cup, and is up for the Vezina this year. He's good. Damn good.

So much so I put him in the top 5 for best goalies in the past 3 decades, if not for the entire history of the game.

Former 4th overall selection. Helped team Canada win a Gold. What he has done this year. Multiple candidacies for the Vezina.

Top 5 NHL goalies in no specific order and in no way is this being ignorant to the Sawchuks, Halls, and Drydens, but the goalie of the past couple of decades is much more technically sound and better equipped vs. the goalie of yesteryear due to better training methods/techniques, goalie coaching which as of 20 years ago didn't exist. Better equipment.

Anyway, here goes...

Martin Brodeur
Patrick Roy
Dominik Hasek
Tim Thomas
Roberto Luongo

Thomas gets in because after this Summer is over he'll be a two-time Vezina and Conn Smyth winner. He's by far the favorite to win playoff MVP. It's not even a contest, and that's even if he craps the bed for Game 7. It's his already. Signed, sealed, and delivered! And he may even be a Stanley Cup winner after Wednesday's game. We'll see.

Hmm, I've blocked seeing Eli's posts, but does that mean he can still see mine? Booo.

Whatever... very mature. It's only hockey and I am a passionate guy. So we have some minor disagreements and then this... bah.

Moving along, what does everyone think the score of Game 7 will be?

I imagine a 3-2 Canucks win. Taking a lot on that Vancouver can get 3 goals by Thomas. Gutsy prediction at this point?

3-1 Bruins with one of those being on an open net.

Nice! :) Very realistic. I guess any score is realistic by definition. I mean nobody saw that 8-1 debacle coming in Game 3. And yes, Luongo has been known to let the flood gates open from time to time in these playoffs, but this is the Stanley Cup Final. You would expect things to be tightened up.

I am sorry BuffBuff and BuffyGirl I can come off controlling and dominating. Like my opinion is the only one worth a damn. I need to change that and not lecture. Nobody likes to be lectured, I certainly don't, so for that I am sorry. I am a hypocrite. I'll work on being more passive and less patronizing.

We all get a bit ahead of ourselves with our emotions sometimes. We all could use a breather before responding. :1-1:

Um, rude. You didn't even ask if WE wanted any popcorn. :pfft:

Whatever. The Canucks lead the series, well, as of now it's still tied and it goes back to their building. So relax. You say this now, but if the Canucks win it in seven (which I predicted every game being won by the home team in this series) and if they get the Cup, you'll be eating your words in this post. So lets not be bi-polar fans. If they win the Cup and I hear woohoo WE WON! I'll be like :slap :facepalm . No face palm eh?

The sad truth is... the Canucks have been scraping by with luck. They are 3-0 at home, and 3-0 away. Yes, Game 7 is at home, which could potentially bode well for Vancouver. HOWEVER, the canucks have only been winning their games this series by a margin of 1 goal, and during each of those games, they scored first. That is an important key factor in winning game 7 for the Canucks. But, showing up to the game is the most important. Which they did not do even slightly in each of the games at TD Garden. Their lackluster performance in those games were well.... lackluster, pathetic, embarrassing, whatever you wish to call it. Im sure every single Vancouver fan we smacking themselves in the head those nights.

I predict a Boston win on Wednesday, but should the Canucks prevail, I shall be glad for them, but at this point... I don't think my enthusiasm will be very great. They really have been nothing but a headache for me in most of this series. So, I will congratulate them in a mellowed cheering fashion should they win tomorrow, give my significant other a high-five perhaps, but will probably not be celebrating in here so as to not be seen as a bi-polar fan. We wouldn't want that now, would we... :wink1:

Also, I do think pretty much every fan, at some point or another, become bi-polar watching their team play. Especially when it becomes a disheartening experience after investing so much time into said team. To see them have 3 goals let in by the opposing team within 4 minutes, you have to admit, no fan will be cheering like crazy. Everyone gets down, doubts the players, the team, the coach, etc. And when more goals go in... it just gets worse. Ease up on the bi-polar fan... they doubt in moments of weakness and despair. Can't help it.

Also, a pretty humorous article, because it's true. :

i just can't get why anybody who's not from Vancouver would cheer for the Canucks. it's quite baffling.

It's kinda like, why own a cat where you're allergic.

People do weird things sometimes when typically one wouldn't think it's the most logical thing to do.

The smallest of things can affect something that a person likes, especially sport teams. It could be a player, colors, the mascot, the city, any number of things.

I started liking the Cincinnati Bengals because a player I like from college was drafted onto the team. Because one would think, Cincinnati? Really? The third worse team in the league last season? Well... what can I say. :D

i respect any individual appreciating a team based on other factors other than proximity.

Well said! Lets see, when you're in my situation (a Winnipegger) who had no NHL team for 15 years, you have to pick a team outside of your area. I chose the Pittsburgh Penguins at the time because they had two players I had a great deal of respect for, Mario Lemieux and Ron Francis. My two all-time favorites. I was basically just a Penguins fan for 20 years. Then I became a Moose season ticket holder several years ago and got invested into the team through following them closely as a result of being a season ticket holder. I now can say two thirds of the Canucks are made up of guys I followed closely and had the privilege to not only meet, but make some history with, so yes, I became a Vancouver Canucks fan.

Tim Thomas better win the Smythe, only player truly deserving of it this series.

Thomas is very worthy of the Conn Smythe. I think he should win. He's the most consistent and pretty much dominating position-wise. The Sedins show up when they want to. Luongo is hit or miss. None of them put on a consistent enough outstanding play to be Conn Smythe winners. It's sad, but true.

Simple. Everyone hates Boston. :yess:

:exactly: :clap
