This is exactly why I think the Habs are garbage and have no respect for them.

They have ZERo fight in them, alll they do is push you from a far and then hide. Dasharnais gets crunched and its bear hugs all around. What a bunch of *******

Where was Ryan White in the third?

Solid goal by Darche, off his arm this time??

LOSERS

Yet, you watch every game.
You're so funny... lol.

Okay, now I have to dust off my Philly glitter avy... lol.

Regular season means nothing. Never get all hyped up by watching a team in the regular season. The playoffs are a different game and even an 8 seed can go a long way if they get hot.

How can it mean nothing if how you perform in the regular season determines if you even make it to the playoffs?

Because half the teams in the league make the playoffs. You have to be garbage to miss the playoffs. Most years you could probably pick 90 percent of the teams before the season starts that will make it.

Ask the Caps or Sharks how well being a top seed pays off. Tearing it up in the regular season means nothing once the playoffs begin.

I agree with Kit. One must look no further than the Caps season last year.

With all due respect to last year's President cup trophy winners (the Caps) and the prior year's Stanley Cup champions (the Pens), the Habs were on fire last year. By the time the Habs ran into the Flyers (who clearly are a much more physically demanding team), the Habs had nothing left in the tank.

They were talking about this on the radio today... Should the Habs pray the Flyers get knocked out early OR should the secretly hope they run into the Flyers in the first round while they still have all their energy?

The correct answer is zero. 8th seeded teams have gone to the Cup Final, see the Oilers in 2006.

And while technically not the 8th seed, Philly had the same amount of points as 8th last year, right?

Of course a hot or cold goalie, or a really momentous streak can make the 1st seed exit early or the 8th seed advance, that's not going to be the norm. But while you can say "anything can happen" and that the regular season doesn't mean anything, when the 8th seed has a 1/8 chance to win the Cup, why has it never won if the regular season standings don't reflect anything?

Wrong, when the Habs luck ran out they got embarassed right out of the playoffs :)

any team can get ousted early if the bounces dont go there way, look at the Caps, the Sharks and the Wings, have all made early exits but were the never dominated in any of those series, just ran into hot goalies and bad bounces

Hahahha! i missed that bit with OV..I did catch a bit of it, noticed Patrick Kane was standing pretty far off to the side from St.Louis while they were picking, found it a bit odd.

On OTR today, Taylor Hall said he was quite impressed by Phil Kessel and how he performs on the ice.
