Re: Nintendo 3DS

i see $300 as being very reasonable for this device.

It's not about what you see. It's about what the public will pay. I'm not talking about the fanboy Nintendo fanatic that would pay $7,000 to be the first to have the new Mario game. I'm talking about the demographic that will likely use the device the most. That is children. They don't have jobs. They rely on Mommy and Daddy to buy. In this economy and the recent losses in jobs I don't see Joe Schmo buying this for his 3 kids at Christmas.

But that's what your seeing. Your assuming that the general public will not pay $300 for this console. Or that everyone is struggling in this "economy".

$300 for the console, charger stand, an AC adapter, a 3DS touch pen, a 2GB SD card, six augmented reality cards, as well as original games and remakes in 3D such as Mario kart, MGS, and Ocarina of Time, and virtual console access to gameboy and gameboy color games...it's all worth it. If you want to be an early adopted you need to man up.

If you can't afford something sit on your hands and wait a year or so for a price drop and stop whining about a price that obviously you will buy it at if your a big enough gamer and fan, but don't think anyone else will.

$300 is the sweet spot for a handheld, it's the most I think I would probably pay for a brand new handheld with 3D capabilities...so it's just right. I love Nintendo and Mario but I'm not paying $7,000 for a new game or console...your comparisons are ridiculous.

Re: Nintendo 3DS

the fact that it is a 3D movie player and camera more than justify the cost... i have a feeling this console will sell like "Apples" next year.

Yes I am assuming the general public will not pay $300. I do believe you are missing the point. :rotfl

Re: Nintendo 3DS

I'm very interested in this device and would like to give it a go when there is a demo device in stores.

Re: Nintendo 3DS

This is supposed to come out in March, right? I don't think there's an absolute definitive release date for the U.S. yet.

Re: Nintendo 3DS

I'd love to preorder one, but not if it's gonna be $300. Still waiting on an official MSRP...
