Re: Nintendo 3DS

Only one friend code per console that covers all games. *MUCH* better than the previous setup, but still... why can't we just have a username and sign-in like every other platform on the planet?

Re: Nintendo 3DS

Easy pass for me. I'll definitely wait until a price drop or Xmas for this. I'll admit I'm biased because of the price, but for just a bit more I can get another PS3 or 360 for the bedroom. I hope the homebrew comes quickly for this because that's partly why I keep my DS despite not playing it much anymore.

~~Shropt you're getting one right?? What launch games are you planning on getting with it??

Re: Nintendo 3DS

At $250 it's really a question of skipping out on one Hot Toys figure to pick up a 3DS. Sorry, Ghost Rider! :lol

Who's ordering from Amazon? I'd like to, but buying/pre-ordering new hardware is something I usually like to do in a physical store so I can pick it up first day.

With some games they ship it so that it arrives the day it's released rather than just being sent to ship that day, perhaps they'll do the same for this

Amazon has gameday release. No need to waste gas when they can come to you. In fact, you can just stay in your pajamas all day.

Only downside is that March 27 is a Sunday. At the earliest I think it'll be Monday if you order it with 1-day shipping.

Kotaku videos and details from Nintendo's U.S./Europe 3DS Preview event today:

Video detailing the 3DS' home menu and multi-tasking interface (dashboard!), cameras, Miis, and augmented reality cards:

The 3DS will include a set of Augmented Reality cards to use with the system's camera (works like PS3's Eyepet)

Re: Nintendo 3DS

Online gaming and Friend codes get a major overhaul.
Now you'll only have 1 friend code tied to each 3DS system instead of a different one for every game. The 3DS will have a Friends List app that will remember your friend's Friend Code.

Already mentioned a page back :wink1: It's far better that they're doing it that way though.

I think I'll wait for the eventual 3DS Lite or whatever they dub the upgrade.

Can't see what else they could upgrade in the next iteration with the exception of a longer battery life. The 3DS is already the size of a DS lite (or thereabouts) and has all the features of that and its successor the DSi/DSiXL. I'm not saying Nintendo won't announce an upgrade, but if it's an insubstantial upgrade like the DSi XL was to the DSi, I won't be worried. I'm still on my DS Lite.

When Nintendo released the DS lite, it was about a year and a half later and came in at only $20 less than the regular phat DS.

Re: Nintendo 3DS

Sadly, neither RE Revelations nor Mercenaries will be launch games, though Mercenaries will release between April and June.

The XL :slap

I picked up a DS close to the beginning and then ended up getting a DS lite (which is what people should stick with). Happened to me with GB Pocket which I replaced with a Color and then GBA with a GBA SP. I never learn so I'll sit it out this time...

...and then there won't be a makeover for this one :lol. I'll maybe wait to see if they come out with green or something. Hope to hear your impressions when you get it plas :D
