Zelda on the Switch looks way better than every XBOX one launch title..
And in all fairness it was developed on the Wii U architecture and ported over
Xbox one is a four year old console
The nvidia chip is custom made, the switch would have heat issues if it had the same architecture as Microsoft and Sony
4GB VRAM is dedicated to those monstrous OS's
I believe there's untapped power in the console that will take years to utilize. The 3DS killed Sonys vita and clearly Nintendo utilized the hardware far better than Sony (and apparently Apple / Samsung)
Aside from being wrong in my opinion but wow. Better than 4 year old games. Really setting the bar high. If this came out 4 years ago it would be groundbreaking.
Those performance specs are undocked out putting at 720p
Most people won't notice a difference in visuals with screens less than 60 inches
HDR is irrelevant for tvs smaller than 60 inches same with supposed "4K" resolution
Switch is a powerful console
Take it from product testers at FOX CONN
It isn't supposed to be a primary home console it performs way better as a tablet
HDR certainly isnt irrelevant for below 60inch. My 55inch curved Samsung with HDR 4K is incredible. My neighbour has a standard 55inch and the colouration and display quality is tenfold better.
Also, undocked it runs at 60% capacity. It does not run better as a tablet because a tablet allows me to do my work on it. Switch doesnt even have a web browser for christ sake. The thing is pointless. 3 hour battery life so long journeys are buggered.
Thats if you arent like me who has a wife, child, goes outside to not play games and instead engages in family activities and never touches public transport who much prefers to play on a big TV in the combfort of my own home. The last time I used my DS or PSP was 2008 when I was at 6th form.
If Nintendo arent focusing on being a primary home console why did they not replace the 3DS? The Switch is pointless. Its backwards compared to the push technology is going for IE 4k/HDR/UHD/VR. 3rd party developers will not support the Switch when they have to considerably downgrade everything.
The first party titles are far too thinly spread. The Switch has been rushed out. It shouldve come out Christmas 2017 with an incredibly strong launch lineup and online thats actually fully fuctioning. Instead its an incredibly expensive beta on its release.
£280 with no games is far too expensive. Theres no point comparing the Switch release to the PS4/Xbone release because thats nearly 4 years ago. In 2017 you can buy a 500gig Xbox One S with two Minecraft games for £199. PS4 equivelant is like £220 and an existing games library on both those consoles.
Nintendo lost its way after the Gamecube. That was my favourite console of its generation and it had superb 3rd party support. My 7 year old kid said he would rather have a PS4 than a Switch. I dont even know who the target audience is for this console. Its trying to be 2 different things, its a jack of both trades but a master of none.
