I think he meant early on when the 3DS first came out there was talk about it losing ground until the great games started coming out.

Yeah, and during that time (first year of sales) the 3DS did way better than the Wii U has done in its first year. They're completely different matters so you can't expect the Wii U to start doing well just because the 3DS did.

I'll be waiting for when Super Smash Bros. comes out. Then I'll pick up a Wii U and 3D World and whatever backlog of games there are that are interesting.

Nintendo needs to work better on getting their first-party games out quicker, the Wii U Launch was weak and many were confused as what it was.

The sooner people (media and the fanatics) realize that the Wii U isn't going to beat Sony or Microsoft, the better off they'll be. It won't win the console war, but it'll hold it's own.

Haha, I am picking up that WII U Mario package next week. Still makes me mad gaming stuff has a 1:1 currency conversion. $299 = €299 thx for playing!

I am also sad Nintendo is taking a beating on their WII U's, but gamers have been waiting for the next generation for five years now. Nothing changed really IMO, Xbox and PS fans hating eachother with a passion and completely ignoring the rest. And by next year their 'next gen' specs will get destroyed by high-end PC's.
Nintendo could use bad times though, would make them less lazy. Look at the 3DS, awful start (I was one the people getting burned my buying it right before their pricedrop 3 months after launch), but now its quality games library is getting quite impressive.

All this is irrelevant though, since I can't play Mario, DK, Zelda, Metroid and whatnot on other systems, they have my support.
