Might be easier to bust down and get the nintendo wifi connector it sounds like.

I don't understand what that actually does?, what's its deal? I have a router, and the Wii reaches the router and recognizes it, it just won't connect.Something to do with my parents in law set up.

Well as long as the computer gets the internet the wifi connector will as well and connect ya(just plugs into a USB port) which is what i use.(dunno whats up with the setup hmmmm)

but it may save ya the hassle if the set up can't be stable

I'll check into that first than, it's a weeiiirrdd set up. And I guess it's how the phone company did it. In the end the basic thing is, is that the router won't recognize it's online, but still works. Almost like it's asleep at the wheel. I have another wireless computer set up and it just latches on to the router, but the Wii won't connect. It's like the Wii knows the router is there but doesn't want to recognize the service. I'll try the WiFi connector though, if it doesn't work I'll yell at Best Buy for my money back:lol

Anyone here have this? Also what's the range? I read some online reviews and it seems like it isn't a far reach? I'm trying it anyway.

Oh yeah, and what's the WiFi MAX, is that different, better worse?

What happened to the PS3?? I've been seeing the same 3 at my local Target for awhile. No one wants them.

At the same time, still haven't seen any Wii's. And all our friends keep coming over to play ours. I would not have expected this to happen. I blame the $200 BluRay add on sale you have to agree to with the PS3 and the free Wii Sports that everyone loves.

Who else is feeling like a PIMP for owning a Wii?

OK--they had three in at Best Buy this morning and I finally got one, knowing that my tax return is due any day now. Also picked up Zelda and an extra controller.

I didn't get it set up until 10 PM, but I let my kids stay up late and help me create little Mii figures of the entire family. Then we played some Wii sports and my son was able to use the control and play some baseball. It was a lot of fun. The graphics look just as terrible as I was expecting on my 61" 1080p HDTV. The graphics on the PS3 look fantastic--but there aren't any fun games to play and there won't be for months. For the price, the Wii is a lot of fun--and you are pretty much guaranteed to get a goofy grin on your face your first time playing around with Wii sports. (Now I need to read the manual and figure out how to get the cursor to reappear when you drop your arm to a more comfortable position.)

Tomorrow I will sleep in and then play some Zelda while waiting for the FedEx man to deliver Jabba and his throne. Then I will go out to lunch with my family, return home and put the kids down for a late nap, watch my new copy of Flyboys on Blu-ray while eating some birthday dessert from the Cheesecake Factory, and then go see Letters From Iwo Jima with Giant Chicken. If my wife is still awake when I get home, I will give her a schtupping she'll never forget. (And if she's deep asleep, it'll be one she'll never remember.) Then on Saturday we're off to take the kids to see "Disney on Ice" in Fresno followed by lunch at the new Claim Jumper restaurant.

Wow, were you in that mood before you bought the Wii or was it the Wii that caused it? :lol

TOM - YOU GOT A Wii??????? (where??? when???)

Tonight I downloaded the Internet browser for it... It was hard to use but it was fun looking at break.com on my TV. I wish 360 had a browser!

On 2/12 I am going to bye Wii:play which will be bundled with a controller.

Other than Zelda, Wii Sports and Wii Play... I really have nothing to look forward to until Super Smash Bro. comes out in June.

June?!? This is nintendo we're talking about. I'd be shocked if we saw Smash Bros. this year.

Personally, I have my fingers crossed hoping Sonic is going to be good. I'm also looking forward to Godfather and Manhunt 2.

The Wii is nice but I don't really like the types of games that come out on Nintendo systems so if I ever get one it'll be in a long time. So currently I'm just going to get an LCD TV for my computer and so that I can finally have a TV in my dorm and be happy. That is until everything I have to buy with Toy Fair and Celebration IV.

BLASPHEMY, WII IS OUR GOD NOW BOW!!!!

Or to each their own I suppose.

A lot of friends of mine are big 1st person shooter guys, and when they found out I was waiting to get the Wii first day they laughed and said it'll suck next to the PS3 or XBOX 360, now they're asking to come over all the time to play my "Kiddy" games. I have a PC for 1st persons, so I can wait, but I would like a 360 1 day.

not to mention that resident evil games are hardly 'kiddy' games, plus the other raft of 'adult' games lined up for the Wii this coming year :D can't wait

Through the internet via the "send a mii" option in the Mii plaza. In order to do this, you must both be registered in each-other's address book. If you don't have an internet connection for your Wii, you can drop it into your controller and physically take it to your friend's Wii. This is done with through the controller icon in the Mii Plaza.
