I agree that there is far more crap as opposed to quality games out there for the Wii. This is kind of what the PS2 suffered from when it was on top, too many developers rushing games to make a quick buck. Here's a quick list of somewhat recent titles for you guys to check out of you're hurting for new games:
Trauma Center New Blood
Zak and Wiki
Resident Evil 4
Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles
Ghost Squad
Medal of Honor Heros 2
NiGHTS Journey of Dreams
Guitar Hero 3
Geometry Wars Galaxies
Don't forget older games you may have passed as well. To name a few (these can probably be bought used for cheap):
Elebits
The Godfather
Scarface
Trauma Center Second Opinion
Metal Slug Anthology
Sonic and the Secret Rings
I mean no offense by this response, but I am not going to pull any punches commenting about the games you listed. It's not personal.
Trauma Center New Blood - Retread of a game I got tired of playing on the DS.
Zak and Wiki - Truly a great game.
Resident Evil 4 - Another great game, but I already finished it on the Cube and PS2 ... so Wii gets no credit for this masterpiece.
Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles - Also own this one. It's fun, but not a classic.
Ghost Squad - another formulaic rail shooter.
Medal of Honor Heroes 2 - heard decent things about this, but I didn't buy the Wii for FPS shooters. My PC and 360/PS3 outclass this category on the Wii by miles.
NiGHTS Journey of Dreams - Just a retread of a game I finished on the Saturn years ago.
Guitar Hero 3 - Defective (most of the disc minted in the first month of production output in mono ... NOT stereo ... for a music based game
). Also, it's the 3rd best version of the game.
Geometry Wars Galaxies - Just a retread of a game I bought and finished on the 360 2 years ago for 30 dollars less.
Elebits - While not a classic, this was one of the few launch games I liked. They took advantage of the motion sensing ... just didn't take it far enough.
The Godfather - done better on the PC.
Scarface - Played and finished (well, got tire of it) on the PC over a year before the Wii was released.
Trauma Center Second Opinion - port of a DS game with minimal additions.
Metal Slug Anthology - horrendous port of arcade classics with 7 control setups - which ALL suck. Get it for the PSP instead. Also, the graphics look horrible on a big screen television.
Sonic and the Secret Rings - no where near the classics of old, but fun in a nostalgic way.
This list of games illustrates my main gripe with the Wii. Other than the big N's powerhouses, all of the other games are ports of games ... most of which were done better on their first systems - and all of which are so old, most people have already played them. Give me some new properties that excite ... not a shoddy re-release of a classic I am finished with.
