No credited artists on figures

Only just noticed lol that HT seem to have stopped crediting their artists on the boxes and instruction sheets. That seems very strange and sad that they are unwilling to give their artists credit.

And Inart don’t provide any credits either I believe.

I know Lim does have because I got the recent Nathan Drake figure.

Just more evidence that the business is a bit shady.

It's been that way for quite a while, which is a shame since you can't put a name to a sculpt any more, or see how a sculptor has progressed.

Maybe the companies are protecting the artists from potential hate when the sculpt isn't good enough for some?

Has it really? I know they stopped on the website but I thought they were still doing it on the final product packaging until I noticed on my Mantis and Tech figures. Very disappointing and seems disrespectful to their teams but what you say makes sense.

I can't remember when I first noticed it, but it stood out when copying the spec lists to paste in figure threads.

Hot Toys' site is always very slow to search but I checked some random figures. The last one on the first page is Flash, and there's no artists. There were no artists on a Rogue One Shoretrooper.

To make sure they hadn't just been deleting the names from older figures I searched for even older ones. The earliest one I could think of which was still on the site was Babydoll from Sucker Punch, and the artists were listed.

Looks like they started phasing out credits on the press releases as way back as 2019 on figures like the Cap SE from Endgame and the QS Spidey. They were inconsistent for awhile then seemed to stop completely by 2021 with figures like Ahsoka from Mando and Cap from FWS. The OCD in me wants to try and work out when they stopped on the packaging. That seems like around a year ago but like you say could be more.

Wasn't there a head sculpt that got absolutely trashed online and JC deleted a few social posts because the artist was tagged?

I seem to remember them stopping credits around that time.

It was probably the smiling Ant-Man. That was announced 2018, released ~2019? Sculpted by Kojun, who generally does great work. HT are insanely sensitive to criticism.
