Wow, they're waiting for China now? Why not just open the film everywhere now, and China in November? It wouldn't be the first time a movie opens later in a foreign market.

They don't do that anymore. Too much piracy.

I wonder if maybe the villain's plot has to do with releasing a virus.... remember that Arnold movie that got pushed after 911 because it had a plane crash in it?

Seen an article talking about the Falcon and the WS reshoots were redoing Zemo's plot as it involved a pandemic. Just rumors and nothing concrete on that as of yet.

Got to make sure their Chinese market is open. Would you leave 30-60 million on the table?

You've identified the cause correctly, but the China box office is likely to be a LOT more than that. Skyfall made $59M in China in 2013, then Spectre made $83M there in 2015. Without a pandemic to contend with, Craig's last Bond film will probably clear $100M there with room to spare.

Also in Europe the Coronavirus is becoming a real concern, it’s going to put people off going to see it. I’m in UK and whilst it’s not as wide spread here yet as other places (Northern Italy), I’m not really keen to go the cinema at all at the moment because of the virus. Who knows but in the next few weeks it could be a lot worse. Seems like a sensible move and not just to prevent lost revenue from China.

Even more reason.

Not a good time for masses of people to group together for extended periods in the dark.

I see that Outbreak is the #1 trending movie on Netflix right now, I wonder why lol. Can you imagine that being shown in theaters today with the scene where the guy has the coughing fit in the crowded theater. :lol
