The Shards are multiple pieces mounted directly to the plaque. The only removable part is the hilt. It makes a really nice display though!

Its actually broken, but all of the pieces are attached to the plaque...apart from the hilt and top of the sword itself...

I used to own it and it is fairly awful it has to be said!

And yes UC all the way...best LOTR weapon's company there is!

My favorite UC item is probably Eowyn's sword. That thing is nice, plus it isn't huge like the other swords so you can swing it around without fear of hitting too many things.

Thats one sword I havn't picked up yet, but I think the boromir sword is about the same size/weight and yes faux sword fighting is always fun!

You need to get that sword. Theoden's used to be my favorite sword until I saw Eowyn's in person.

Not too badly. I did decide against the Noble collection sword though, and decided to go with a non-licensed Hadhafang I found on eBay. The quality is actually pretty impressive, and if you don't know exactly what to look for in the UC version and aren't staring at it from a couple feet away it's pretty hard to tell the difference. Elvish lettering is a bit muddled, but legible if you know the text. I'll probably post pics when I get home on Monday just for fun. Also, decided to blow my budget and ordered the UC Sword of Isildur, but apparently it's not shipping till mid-June which is sucktastic.
