Re: NTT Jaws Bruce Maquette By Mick Schultz

The fact the price still isn't announced makes me believe it is well over a thousand dollars.

Yeah, given it's size and limited numbers, this piece will unfortunately be way out of my price range.

Re: NTT Jaws Bruce Maquette By Mick Schultz

I really don't get that number range.

That's the best Bruce I've ever seen... but way too large for me. I wonder if you can remove him from that wooden mock-rig?

I hope someone here gets one just so I can see the pics.

Re: NTT Jaws Bruce Maquette By Mick Schultz

Whats he made of?..and if theirs an order placed does it ship right away?

I'm assuming this is a bootleg item, so pics are okay, but we can't support anyone selling it.

They are working on options for the bases from what I understand. The rig is optional.

Re: NTT Jaws Bruce Maquette By Mick Schultz

I want a V.2 thats strung up with a scaled Richard Dreyfus crawling out of his stomach.

Re: NTT Jaws Bruce Maquette By Mick Schultz

The rig is a real negative of this piece in my book. The whole point of owning an NTT Bruce is to enjoy the full body and design that is unique to Bruce. With all the quality and work put into getting his design right for this piece, why design a support structure that obscures view of the shark. The Sideshow pedistal is the perfect way to present Bruce, the NTT guys should have gone that route all along. Sure the rig has the nostalgia of being how they transported the shark, but still, why do something that hides it.

I think it would have been cool to design a pedistal type structure resembling the crane arm that operated the shark, that way you still see the whole thing, but you also have a display stand that has ties to the robot aspect of him.

That's excellent news, as I agree with Maulfan. The nostalgia aspect is great, but I'd rather have the shark from Jaws looking like he's coming at you rather than caged in a wooden structure.

Re: NTT Jaws Bruce Maquette By Mick Schultz

I've heard that the idea of making smaller ones too has been tossed around, I'd be up for that, more affordable and easier to display. I have enough challenge finding space for the Sideshow maquette, one as big as this NTT would be really tricky, it'd definitely be the biggest piece in my collection if I got it.

Re: NTT Jaws Bruce Maquette By Mick Schultz

Lots of options being tossed around. Meanwhile, to clarify...this is not a bootleg. Its 100% original artists proof limited edition. The rig or wooden structure was designed for tease as a promo piece rather than full display. Think of it as the concept model at a car show. Its also an exact duplicate of the rig used during production and was meant to show how the shark was actually held between takes. In essence this maquette is a precision miniature of what one might have seen...behind the scenes rather than 'in action'.

Though from the right angle apparently there's still quite a bit of 'action'.:horror

The stand being made available now is completely different and allows a complete 360 view plus incorporates two in scale barrels for effect.

New photos of shark w/ new base should be available shortly.

Swimming pool optional.:D

Re: NTT Jaws Bruce Maquette By Mick Schultz

Truly amazing work of art! I wish I could afford it, but looks highly unlikely... Still, quite an amazing maquette!

Re: NTT Jaws Bruce Maquette By Mick Schultz

They're being made with a water thin urethane and rotocast laminated
with a top quality urethane, not the low quality 'filled with fillers' type material.

This is true. There will be several bases choices as well from what I hear.
