The commissioner was contacted and offered for others to go in together should this be made. He ignored the request. That's respectfully his prerogative.

What's boisterous and in poor taste was to post this. It's disrespectful to the freaks and the artist. I know that's a bold statement and some may feel I'm overreacting but I stand by my opinion.

I have a few commissions or items from some of the top artists around here that the masses do not know about, never would they be posted even if the artist was OK with it because I know it would cause an uproar. As I said its in poor taste.

Ray :) sorry to hurt your feelings man , the solution is very simple feel free to stay out of my thread, that poor taste thread is not for you

"you are not welcome"

it's for the people who appreciate the ART .. so you can easily pretend it's not Here :love

What? Dont make up some BS story about i was contacted and if youre referring to your bro contacting me after the fact Richard was made then grow some ***** and contact me yourself .

So who's telling the truth?

Rainman threads :lol

Beautifully crafted figure as always, though I've never been a fan of RM's signature puppy dog eyes.

So who's telling the truth?

No ones not telling the truth, nothing is untruthful about my statement and his is just... confusing. I said the commissioner of this project was contacted about weather or not he'd consider joining in a small run instead of a private commission and that the question went completely ignored. I didn't say I was the one to contact him. I also clearly said it was well within his right to ignore said question and to commission whatever he pleases.

What's interesting is that StateOfQatar is claiming my statement is disingenuous or cowardly, and that's putting it in a more mature way than the actual rebuttal ... However he had to create a new identity/username to make such a statement. It seems it's a case of the pot calling the kettle black.

But the point is moot and I'm not a fan of bickering with strangers on message boards, and Neo Geo requested I stay out of his thread, my point was made and I'm acknowledging his request. And having the "*****" to do so publicly. :)

My username is new? Same account changed name ages ago through the moderator :slap
Its funny though cos most of the participants here know me by my real name and know im stateofqatar
Keep opinions for yourself and like i said next time youve got something to say its simple PM me
Cheers

It is no secret i had these BWE trio commissioned like a year ago
But some old timers with nothing to prove had to say some **** and claim this and that like i owe them something
They claim they have some unseen private commissions? Oh really?
Think this will give them some more props:slap

Thanks for understanding Ray :duff ,

the above subject is closed now , so please no more comments about it .

Thanks

I've never seen BE, but man these figures are top shelf. The level of detailing is mind boggling ! Congrats man.

Kept quite on this one tbh due to the fact I'm in the 'I genuinely believe this could and should have been a general release figure' camp lol. Alas it is not and never will be so congratz to Marshal for going out and getting what he wanted :) more power to you for being able to do it.

However I personally do not think Nucky is as good as the Harrow figure we saw late last year, the accessories on this are stunning as always, the tailoring is another worldly lol as always, but the sculpt? Not so much for me I'm afraid. I can tell its Nucky Thompson aka Steve Buscemi but I think that's more to do with the rest of the figure sheer quality and my knowledge of the subject matter. Don't get me wrong it's a beautiful beautiful figure as a whole but for me the sculpt isn't one of Rainman's better. It reminds me a lot of his Hannibal Lector sculpt (which also for me slightly missed the mark). It has the same facial features etc it just looks a lot like that sculpt to me like ALOT, mouth, nose, eyes etc etc

Regardless I love the figure as a whole and wish I get the chance to own it :) never mind eh.....

this figure is stunning to lok at, but i agree with bullet, the face is too full, needs to be withdrwan more, i think if that was done it would have hit the mark 100%, i can see the actor for sure, no doubt about that. should have been just a little more taper from the temples to the chin... still its 98% perfect....i would take it in a milli second.....congrats mashel.....

I would love it in my collection. That's too bad Rainman won't choose this kind of figure himself..

I think the sculpt is far from perfect though.. Really not one of his best. I can't see much likeness here, it needs some work to be good.

The suit and accessories look phenomenal, but, and perhaps this is due to the fact that the figure it will stand next to is that near perfect interpretation of Harrow (I've never really been a fan of Rainman's style, but he really nailed that one), I think the likeness could use some work. I don't want to pry, but, with private commissions like these, is the buyer able to ask for modifications from the artist? I'm not implying anything, but, with as much as these are rumored to cost, I'd hope that the commissioner would be able to get a product that he finds satisfactory.

I suppose that's like asking Picasso to modify a painting because you are not a big fan of the final colours used. In the end you employ an artist based on exposure to their existing pieces. You are basically buying the artists impression of something, which is what this is in the end.

Yep, very true. Artists like Rainman and Serang have a distinct style and if you're not a fan you'll never really be convinced. When I'm buying a high-end figure I'm not interested in the artist's interpretation, I just want the likeness to be as accurate a likeness as possible.
