Executive replicas has quite an assortment planned. Let's hope that the preorders can meet the hopes on these.

And Zica Toys were where. Too bad these are 8 inch, but I'm sure the Mego fans will be pleased. The attention to detail on these was very impressive given their size. The flight bay is not available.

And on a bit of a surprising note was the first in this series of 8 inchers:

I saw all those! I loved the Buck Rogers Mego style figures. They came out great! Too bad they're 8" like you said. And I meant to ask about the Dave and Pod figure, if it was ever going to get released. You didn't happen to ask, did you?

Thanks for posting the pics!

Its still in production and planned for release. As has been said, 2001 is unlicensable so they acquires Dullea's likeness rights thats how they are able to make it before those queries arise again.

Both the Executive Replica and the Zica guys were ultra cool and approachable. I had a lot of fun talking figures with them [much to the chagrin of my 9 yr old son] and really appreciated the time they ook to talk and explain things. Zica even are using their own body on these. While very similar in some ways to the old Megos, this one seemed sturdier and more willing to hold a pose.
It made me very sad that these were NOT 1:6!

AWESOME!!! :yess: I was really starting to think this project was dead. This is probably my MOST WANTED 1/6 figure. Hope they're still doing the Lockwood in the yellow suit too. Can't wait for more info on this!!!

:hi5:

Saw the Lockwood sculpt at the sculptor's studio about a week before the show. They were still tweaking it as he looked about 15 years to young. Can't believe there are no pictures on the web anywhere of the PF style Bettie Page. Ironman almost got it, but seems his focus was on the 12 inch figures?! Would love to see those Buck Rogers figures in 1/6th scale.

Let's see... I want Commando Cody, Diabolik(!), The Spider, Herbert West, Doc Savage....

Hope these all end up being released!

Agreed. I cannot believe they have the Serenity/Firefly license. Their clothing seems perfect. If they were not so expensive :(

Some great looking stuff!!!

Man, I'd kill for an 1/6 Gil Gerard Buck Rogers :rock :rock

If you want 1/6 scale Buck Rogers figures from the TV show you need to push on Steve Forde, owner of Go Hero. He also has access to this license and can easily make a series of 1/6 scale figures if the demand is there.

But their stuff is so way over expensive. You guys already got it down, just down in the wrong scale. :banghead

Even just a set of the heads with accompanying outfits would be fine. I'll find my own body. :D

In all seriousness, it was great meeting and talking with you guys at the Con. Hope we can meet up again sometime.

I'm waiting for Lockwood to add him to my Star Trek collection.

Sorry about Betty, its 1:6 or nothing for me!

Who knows, if the 1/9 scale figures do well I might give 1/6 scale figures a shot. :)

It was great meeting you too and hopefully we'll see you again at next year's NYCC.

"Interesting" assortment of licenses.

Thank you for reporting, but . . . regarding the "offerings" from Executive Replicas . . . it does not exist until they're actually produced and released.

If they all out to acquire such licenses in the first place, then how come they have such a hard time getting things produced? Is it due to not enough interest or pre-orders or they can't get enough funding (i.e. people to fork over the $ to actually produce them)?

Amok Time has some great stuff there! Forest Ackerman! Chaney Sr! George Romero! Awesomness right there!

And the Shadow looks really good too. I might just have to track down that Boris Karloff figure if they are making the actors behind the monsters.

Production runs pretty much off of pre-orders. A license is acquired that people have expressed interest in seeing figures from. Prototypes are made, then shown and pre-orders accepted. Figuring in the cost of a license [understandably they vary from property to property] then the cost of making the prototypes, a certain number of pre-orders MUST be obtained to make a production run viable. So, basically, its people don't pre-order to make the production possible.

When would the Zica Buck Rogers figure come out, and how much will they go for?

They said at the con they were either $24.99 or $27.99

I hope they sell well if thats what a 1:6 run will take but I really don't see how 1:9 sales would help or hurt those of 1:6. Then again, I'm severely prejudiced.

You "know" and I "know" how this usually plays out. The licenses fill a very esoteric and fringe niche (i.e. definitely not "mainstream", but recognizable by some) . . . some see this as a strength and weakness. Based on this . . . I doubt they'll be able to acquire the necessary #s to proceed with production . . . provided they're not experiencing funding and production issues . . . given their past experiences and reputation.

We're trying our best to get Buck and Tigerman out by mid December and the remaining three from series 1 should be available around May of 2011. The SRP is $29.99.
