:lol

But I much rather have a President lie about some love-affair than a President lie about getting us into a war, not to mention ruining the economy.

Same here.... I don't want a President who cares more about padding the pockets of his oil buddies than doing what is best for the American people.

how in the hell did bush become president?

Aliens came down and forced him apon us. Chuck Missler has since caught the problem and has been informing people. We are now awakened and know about their dastardly plans.

Lets not bash these people... Bush, Clinton...

The question is will there be change... or... Politics as usual.

Are they there for us, or out for themselves. I think the latter.

I still cringe when I think of the last election and those words... "Four More Years". I was so freakin pissed. :lol

:lol

It could '4 more years' again, if people don't get their act straighten.

I agree... if it spins off in that direction.. it will just start flame wars. We all have strong opinions about these past few years and certain Presidents.... best not to share them.

But really, I don't think it's something that Obama is doing for his own gain. I honestly believe he wants to change things here in America. We can't lose hope in our system, we have to believe that there are idealists who strive for the best we can do. If we lose faith, we lose one of the fundamental cornerstones of what it means to be American. Our Ideals are what makes this country great, and we cannot let ourselves turn into the next Rome... We have to retain those ideals. I think that Obama stands for those ideals, I don't think it's just a bid for power.

Very well said... Kudos! (Did I spell that right?)

I will reiterate - we discourage these kinds of threads totally. However we'll leave it open until it becomes nasty.

They ALL want change. That is what is behind every canidate. No matter what happened with the previous administration they all want change. I don't think much will change no matter who wins because the president alone can't really do much... he needs a lot of help. He can pick people to help him but it doesn't always work.

Yeah, probably naive... but I do believe in Obama, more than any other recent democratic nominee. I will always vote Democratic since that's my leaning, but usually I view it as voting for puppets. I don't feel that way with Obama.

Also, maybe I'll get flamed for this... I'm really excited about the idea of a person of color in the White House. Sure it shouldn't matter what a person's background is, but with as f'd up as our country is (civil rights only 44 years ago) that's pretty impressive; and too me signals a major shift in our country.

Honestly, I support Obama because I believe he will at least TRY to change things. His ideals mirror my own....

Our country is in shambles in many ways, things need to change. It won't be easy, and taxes on the wealthy will have to happen, but in the end... I'd rather vote a nominee in that really seems to want to change the way we do things in this country... than someone who seems to want to keep things the same.

(I'm sure this thread is doomed... but good thing you did it anyway)

Well said. My thoughts exactly.

Unfortunately, I think that it will be the same as usual.
