Obi Shipping Soon!

Well I found out why I havnt gotten my Shipping soon e-mail for the Obi Exclusive. When my Mom called to cancel the Bespin Han they instead canceled Obi. I hope who ever got him off the wait list is happy with him. Now I have to get one off e-bay.

Hold onto Han then, maybe someone might be willing to trade. Also did you try talking to Sideshow they might be able to put you back on the waitlist towards the top. That will bump me down but this is one stituation I would be ok with it.

A little OT, but I can't stop thinking about getting Obi and displaying him. SO I finally thought of a good reason to keep my Inclusive Probe droids on order (I wasn't sure about them, but ordered em' anyway they're cool) 'm going to use the extra sand base that comes with the inclusive one, repaint the sand black and red to look like ash and use it for a final duel scene display between Vader and Obi. I figured if Vader gets a probe, Obi needs some Mustafarian lave/ash and sand and ash have a similar texture. Anyone else have any other base ideas for this?

Fantastic idea, PosterBoyKelly! It may be hard at first to paint over the base but it will look amazing when posed next to droid-based Anakin!

Well I'm not an expert painter, but I figured get it white, which can't be too hard it's sand colored. Than lay down some red and oranges. Than lay down some masking tape in designs and spray the black on, remove the tape and the bright red should glow through. Might even get some black light redpaint soI can get it to glow. Any advice is welcome, I just thought about this for a little bit the other day. I realized that Vaderhas a cool base, and Obi needs one. I gotta watch ROTS some more to pay attention to the detail.

You could probably paint the base with primer.... and then paint it entirely black, highlight here and there with some red and orange to simulate the lava chunks..(but not too much, the ground Obi stood on was not THAT hot.) And follow that up with a little drybrushing of greyish-black to give it a dusty look.

I think that would look rather nice, especially if you used photo reference. :chew
