IMAXed it. visually stunning. i wished all the movie took place in that home/house/station.

i wont say much, dont want to spoil you folks. story wise, it was OKAY. sci fi OKAY. probably a combination of sorts(seen and done before).
i was hoping and was actually eager to see the alien/creature design....but all you get is

tom cruise

:lol

sorry, that was just for SAG. you'd have to see it, as giving that away would be too much of a spoiler.

what i hate about this movie? the ENDING. i effin hate it.

This really exceeded my expectations. Easily one of the coolest-looking films I've seen in recent years. The soundtrack by M83 is fantastic...there's a few nods to Daft Punk's eargasmic work on Tron: Legacy, Kosinski's other film, which is nice.

Fine acting from Cruise and Freeman, as always. Andrea Riseborough is a bit 'meh', but Olga Kurylenko brings some much needed heart to the film. The twists are ones which you'd normally see coming, but Oblivion does such a great job of distracting you with amazing VFX, it manages to slip in a surprise or two...well, at least for me it did.

9/10

Olga was lovable. VERY. i kinda bought the love story aspect in this one. with that said...

its the only reason why i hated the ending.

i wish they gave it a
Shakespearean tragedy exit

but that's just me. :dunno

Just got back from a show.

Best movie I have seen this year so far. Not the most original but I do love the Philip K.****-ish twist. In fact, the whole move feels very Philip K.****-ish.

Not the most original sotry but gorgeously shot, love the soundtrack (despite sounding very Zimmer-ish) and fantastic acting from Tom Cruise.

I was at least hoping this would get some good feedback. I doubt I'll be seeing it in theaters, but I wanted it to be solid enough to warrant a watch at home.

Before Jurassic Park, they showed the trailer for this, and that "Smith family talking in accents" movie. Oblivion already looked promising, but it looked even better when contrasted with the trailer for that other movie.

After Earth feels like a Sci-Fi movie with no budget, so they have to set most of it in the jungle....despite having a budget and using a CGI jungle....where's Oblivion looks and feels like a REAL Sci-Fi film with a budget. Story always looked OK. But it's just nice to see quality looking science fiction for a change.

i'd say the visuals alone would warrant a movie experience. i just wished jack went home as much possible. :lol

i cant put a finger on it, but the story kinda felt like one of Asimov's short with added variations on the plus side. the love story didn't feel cheesy. well, maybe a little bit.

Really enjoyed it! It has a few flaws imo, but all the same a great film!

Cruise is on fine form as is Riseborough. I actually disagree with you fellas, I really didn't like Kurylenko's performance. She is very flat and emotionless for my taste.

The visuals are just insanely stunning! Makes me want to take a trip to Iceland! The Sky Tower and Bubbleship are incredibly cool designs! Couldn't get enough of them either.

For me, Oblivion felt like it was resembling too many other sci-fi classics without being it's own movie. I felt the end was a little rushed as well unfortunately.

I didn't like how Jack's seeking of the truth was prolonged for the sake of the movie, I found that all a little frustrating.

However, it sounds like I didn't enjoy it, when actually I really did. I think this is a pretty awesome movie on the whole.

I also love the M83 score however close it is to the Tron Legacy/Batman scores.

8/10

Heavy Future: Oblivion is a visual stunner and more

I wish I had the chance to see Oblivion in IMAX as it was meant to be seen that way. The movie is worth the ticket price for its stunning visuals alone especially all the gorgeous landscape shots. The production design team did a fantastic job while invoking this great vibe of sci-fi world for Oblivion; including the cool vehicles, drones, weapons and other tech which were also some of the highlights of the film.

Though it didn't really stand out throughout, M83 did a good score to the film with some memorable themes. (You can listen to the entire soundtrack linked in the above page which was composed by Anthony Gonzalez and Joseph Trapanese).

The world of Oblivion is established pretty quickly during the opening minutes of the film, while the story build up takes its time. Also it was interesting to see how a large portion of the film's beginning is carried out pretty much by only two characters, played well and effectively by Tom Cruise and Andrea Riseborough.

There are quite a few twists in the story and though they are far from original concepts, it works in the premise of the movie. Oblivion doesn't reach the levels of greatness I was hoping for, still it's a worthy and great step up by director Joseph Kosinski who has delivered a entertaining and visually compelling film.

Saw it today and did enjoy it, even if it wasn't the best film ive ever seen.

Oblivion 9/10. Rarely has a movie looked more beautiful. Stunning set design, visual effects and outstanding audio. The sound track was similar to Legacy yet felt different and for me fitted the movie perfectly. The director Joseph Kosinski is fast becoming one of my favourite Directors and this is one of Tom Cruises best movies in years. While nothing original the story is effective. This movie has been a very nice surprise for me as it kinda flew under the radar with everything else coming out this year.
