My Bespin Han Review
Capt. Solo arrived today via UPS just as my delivery e-mail said it would -- nice.
HS to scale: The concerns about the HS being too large seem unfounded; maybe flash photos exaggerate the size, because it did look huge in some of the posted photos. Han's head looks very much proportional with his body, and it's a great relief.
8.5/10
Likeness: The Harrison Ford likeness also looks better in person that in photos -- it's definitely Harry. The so-called "pudgy cheeks" problem isn't very noticeable at all.
8/10
Clothing: The jacket is a bit short in the waist but nothing to be overly concerned about. I ironed the jacket, pants and his shirt and they look crisp and decent quality. Some said the jacket color was way off, but sitting here in my office it looks great. Shirt is very nice and has the bendy lapel feature like on Luke's tunic. The trousers are exceptional. I'm not a big fan of the boots and will likely trade them out for German officers boots. The boot sculpt is probably movie accurate -- I just don't care for them.
8.5/10
Weapons/accessories: His gun belt is one of the coolest features about this figure. Like Wor-Gar said it is a bit tight, but it can be stretched through various methods. It's very detailed, looks like real leather and is just amazing.
His blaster fits snuggly in the holster and is also well molded. I had wished it would have a removable energy cartridge (re: clip/magazine) like the real Broomhandle Mauser, but it doesn't. The oxygen mask is cool and the Mynock is neat but not my favorite Exclusive item.
Han doesn't have a lot of accessories, but what he does have are pretty cool.
9/10
Prototype vs. Production: Unlike the let down with Anakin, the production version of Bespin Han delivers and looks as good as the prototype pics seen at Toy Fair and SDCC. No paint apps snafus or fabric downgrades that I can see on this puppy.
9/10
Misc: His hands seem to pop off way to easy. At this price, he should also come with a second pair of hands for a greater variety of poses. The box is just beautiful and of the same amazing quality as the previous figures in the Star Wars line.
Summary: I think a lot of the worries about this one were unfounded. He looks great and is easily Jedi Luke's equal (if not better) as far as quality, design and overall presentation. Folks who passed up on this one may regret it. This figure is probably my favorite in the line thus far. Good job Sideshow.
Here's some photos. They're not great quality, but here they are anyway:
