Dude, at this point, I say, GO FOR IT!
I am maybe making three figures for this, as I have more characters in my Batman 1939 set to make anyway, so I say go for it! Figure or figures, bases, dioramas, the works! Blow us away! Blow minds! Have fun!
:chew

Just keep it a secret til July 20th. :D

Im going to do 2 one a completely new take on a character. An other on a character we got from SSC with a new outfit which he appeared in, does this sort of thing count?

I'm in FOR SURE! I love the Batman theme, as I am in that groove already with the Two Face and Joker figures. I have an entire set of ideas ready to go, and that would give me ample time to work it into my schedule. :rock

OK, here is something else we can add. If you are going to SDCC and are planning on bringing one or more of your figures to show off at the Freaks party (and for a group photo), say so and we'll put them all in green font.

Okay, is it supposed to be an original interpretation of a Batman character, or of any existing character from any fictional universe?

Sorry, I'm feeling really dense at the moment.

Just so I am clear, any character that hasn’t already been made into a figure is fair game? So, it can be a completely original character we make up ourselves, or it can be a character from a show that’s never been officially made, like a Marion Ravenwood?

The figure does not have to have been made before. It can have been, but doesn't need to.

It has to be an EXISTING character, so you can't be going and making up Captain Toilet or something.

But the catch is is has to be your take on the character. So if you wanted to make Marion Ravenwood a Redhead, that would work. Or if you made a new outfit for her that wasn't in the film. Just one little tweak is all you need.

I personally have been inspired by many different artists' forms of Batman's characters (come on, anyone that has paid any attention to this thread know's I'm going to be doing Batman stuff). But you can't just simply make a Tim Sale Joker, but a Tim Sale Joker mixed with a little Alex Ross would be OK.

I agree with others, it needs to be a character already existing. If someone makes their own version of Captain America, I have a frame of reference and can compare the special changes you made to it to make it your own, but as stated below, we wouldn't have much to reference Captain Toilet to.

Thanks for the explanation. And good point, OCs wouldn't make much sense to anyone but me. Now I know what I should try to brainstorm on.

This is not my submission, this is just by way of a "For Example..."

Here's a figure that would fit into this challenge. It's meant to be Darth Plagueis. It's my take on an established character.

That there is a great example of any kind! :rock

Great figure and concept Mikey! And excellent point, this can be any figure of any character, shown, known, or spoken of, but we have to have heard of them before, if not actually seen them yet. So, that means, get to it! The sky's the limit!

Finally came up with an idea that has me excited. :maul

I have a feeling, I'm not the only one that will do this particular figure though... :monkey3

Ah, so its not just a character thats not been produced. It has to be your vision of a character... I'd forgotten about that part hmmm, the figure I was working on was just a straight translation.

But the plus side is I can share it earlier now since I don't have to wait until July :rock :rock :rock Although I really should have kept my recent figures back... I hope I haven't already blown my creative load :lol
