I can hardly see clear enough in any pictures to spot that, but there's shots of just the base and Hydrobot to know those are there no question.

If the Hydrobot really is packed in with HT and this is a standard release and fairly close to the v1 price, kudos to them.

I don't feel like there is a THE one to get with Connor. Between included items and costume look, I think both figures are equal.

If I could only have one, I'd probably get the v1 because of not wanting to have the scarred portrait as the only portrait in my collection, but that's the only factor that could help me pick one or the other.

Yup, same here. Both have their issues. V1 with his outfit and gear, which is really unbelieavable and V2 with hydrobot and scarface. Not digging the outfit that much. Hope I can afford the hs and the accesoirces for a reasonable price though

Yup, with seeing the scarred face I was as good as sold, I like both costumes and sets of gear, but I really wanted a significantly different enough portrait to feel like I wasn't just spending another $150 on clothes, which is what the case would have been basically if it were a reuse of the first head with no scar. Hydrobot's just a nice bonus, but not a make or break thing, it's cool, but if v2 was just an alternate costume and Hydrobot, I'd have passed. The scarred portrait makes me feel like I'm getting a totally alternate representation of him and for me it's worth the price of a new figure, and I get an HT Hydrobot at that.

Pretty sure I'm going to sell my v1 when it arrives now. This, I think, will be the better of the 2 versions.

I agree. Im still going to keep v1, but v2 looks way better. It looks like were going to get a ton of accessories with this guy too. Hydrobot, T-600 base, and possibly the grenade launcher he uses towards the end of the film.

Why didnt they just give connor v.1 the right weapon in the first place?

Unfortunately Hot Toys can be too ahead of the game making figures for movies for our own good. They often make figures just from reference shots which don't always feature weapons or weapons that are appropriate for a certain costume. TDK Batman promo images neither show the grapple gun holster change nor the sticky gun and they were absent from the first figure.

The only prommo photo of Connor I've seen on the net is the black outfit holding the v1 gun, but there's a good chance HT's reference didn't clarify and maybe the other gun was easier for them to make. Whatever the case, why the guns are switched is most likely because the figures were under development before they saw the movie to have context.

The good news is we usually get to order or even have figures ship around theatrical release, the bad news is, sometimes it means innaccurracies and missing items because if HT'd seen the movie too, they'd know more about the context for the figures they're making and what items may not have shown up in publicity shots provided by the studios. I also blame the studios for not necessarily showing off or making clear to them about anything not covered in the reference materials they're given.

Its all good. Ill probably end up flip-flopping the bases and guns with these two any way, so they will be film accurate. Now lets just hope hot toys does a T-800!

It's all good if you get both, like I am, but it sucks because it can add a feeling of needing the other one too with some pieces, which is why HT doesn't slow down, they get their film hype sales and secondary sales when they correct things later, only we sort of lose in the situation, they don't.

It all marketing. Hot toys just doubles their money. Instead of selling one figure to people, they end up selling two. The more the merrier! But Its fine by me If they do it that way. I can still afford a couple more figs.

It bothers me because it would be nice for them to just get it right the first go around. I'm getting the new Joker and Batmans because I really like them and the improvements, but I also know most of the problems were because they rushed in, the 2 great figures coming could have been the ones that already came out but weren't because of their rushing.

True. It would save us TONS of money if they just did it right the first time! I would be pretty pissed if hot toys did a Dx connor as soon as we get the V2 connor in our hands. Thats why I didnt bother buying any of their TDK figures, I knew they would eventually release better ones further down the line.
