The article said they are developing "Angelica" and they will release one character from "Dead Man's Chest" again (but not mention which one).

woo hoo! :clap

I love Penelope. She's an awesome actress and beautiful. Can't wait!!

I wouldn't get too worked up over that article, we've been down this rode plenty of times where something's said that doesn't come to be. If we see Angelica before the likes of Barbossa, then get upset, but until it actually happens, these articles should be taken with a huge grain of salt. According to a similar article we should have a DX Rocky, how's that working out.

Go see this movie, its nowhere near as bad as people are trying to make it out. 8/10 on par with DMC.

Angelica however, still remains a terrible figure choice. Terrible.

No hatred for Penelope, her role is simply underwhelming, and she is underutilized. To make her before Barbossa is criminal.

Its like making Batman and Maggie Gyllenhaal instead of Batman and the Joker.

So true.

Yeah! It's about time they did a Rocky & Bullwinkle. :D

I won't see this movie now because of what other people have said.

I will be canceling my HT DX figure.

I'm selling all my POTC toys.

I'm burning my Sparrow costume.

I'm throwing away all my Johnny Depp posters.

I won't ever go by the sea again.

:slap

Seing it tomorrow- not expecting much , maybe I'll be surprised...I think the critics are going full tilt on this one- popular thing to do! HT figure is a MUST regardless!

Has anybody given thought to the fact that with a switchable face, how did they do the PERS? Does the whole setup pull out with the stern face while you put in the smiling one? That would seem awkward and prone to breaking. Or I wonder if the PERS setup is built in to the head, which means both expressions has hollowed out eyes and will have PERS capability?

**edit** scratch that question I just saw the info and both faces do have the PERS which probably means the setup is built in the head. This is a buy for me, after seeing that mag shot of him in his white shirts with both arms raised. Amazing work.

This figure is amazing indeed.
I'm not a very big POTC fan. I've seen only the first movie.
That said, I really want this figure. :D

Agreed on all accounts! :clap:goodpost::exactly:

Is there an announcement about an Angelica figure? :panic:

Just some speculation from the translation in an article. They say shes in the works or something to that extent. Glad to see more people are also like the movie. I think I'll go back for a 2nd viewing tommorow or sunday. :hi5:

Gotcha!

I'm surprised people disliked it, I walked out pretty damn impressed but then again I don't expect a 4th film to best the 1st :D

Wow!!
So much hatred towards Cruz...
crazy people... :cuckoo:
Agreed!

Agree with this too! Her Spanish movie roles are definitely better than her American ones.

This one too.

I prefer DMC over OST but OST was still a good watch. Didn't really care for Blackbeard though. I wanted too but, for me, he can't even compare to Barbossa or Davy Jones. The 3D was the best I've seen since Avatar(and I've seen many movies in 3D). Even better than TRON's 3D IMO.

I don't mind an Angelica figure being made but like it's been said, Barbossa would've been a better choice after Jack. With that said, I'm still excited to see how her figure comes out. I enjoyed her character more than Blackbeard.

Oh I definately liked Blackbeard more then Davy but can see why most won't. Davy's backstory was more fleshed out no doubt, but I also don't think they wanted us to care as much about Edward. I think they just wanted us to know less so we wouldn't feel as bad for him. He was still sort of tragic villain but more deservingly so. Plus he's played by a 68 year old man. I was never expecting an in his prime, hands on Blackbeard, he's older and relies more on his badass reputation now, as well as his magic, and yet he still seemed to be able to handle a swordfight and get around in that jungle very well. Speak softly and carry a big stick, and he was still pretty good and just being a bastard,
willing to kill his daughter, and the way he taunts the mermaid, has no regard for his crew etc. He has a collection of ships he's bested. He was just imposing because as I said, of his reputation, and it worked perfectly for me.

I also think however Barbossa being such a badass mutes him a little because of course we want to route for the guy we've all known the past 10 years.

Saw something on History channel the other night about the real pirates these are based on. The real pirates were pretty underwhelming. Of course, you'd expect Hollywood to exaggerate. But the real Blackbeard, wasn't quite the terror you'd think in terms of how much pirating he did. Still a badass though. He was known for being fearless. But statistically speaking, he looks like an old maid compared to Black Bart. Learning that took me completely off guard. And, this idea they all ride around in Spanish Galleons, is also bunk. Many had clippers and sloops, small fast ships. However, while Blackbeard didn't plunder nearly as many ships as other pirates, his reputation netted him the Queen Anne's Revenge, which was the largest ship to be taken by pirates. The French that originally sailed the Queen Anne's Revenge under another name of course, gave her up after seeing Blackbeards colors, despite having him outgunned and out manned by significant numbers.

At one point he had blockaded Charleston SC for nearly a week, claiming all that entered and left the port was theirs. Word had reached Blackbeard that a fleet had been dispatched from England to purge the area of pirates, and he decided to sail further up the now US coast. Near the end of Blackbeard's reign, he ran the QAR aground on a sand bar off the coast of North Carolina, they suspect on purpose so he could retire, and left all his men on board the derelict ship save a handful of his most loyal whom he took with him on two of his other smaller ships. He fled to some hideaway island up the coast, and met his match to an up and coming young British officer named Lieutenant Maynard during a sword fight on the deck of the British ship. The governor of Virginia apparently didn't take to well to rumors that Teach was anchored in his waters, and offered Maynard a bounty to go after him. Maynard took Blackbeard's head and tossed the body in the water. And, thus was the end of Blackbeard. It's an interesting turn of events. You all should look that story up.

If you get a chance to catch that show, it's pretty educative too.

It seems Blackbeard decided to go out fighting, as he was way out numbered, and boarded that ship anyway. The Brittish took his head and tossed the body in the water.

Huh, some interesting stuff there.

Now THAT was a truely cool story bro! Seriously, it was! I'm not kidding!

:goodpost: :exactly:

LOL. you guys read it all before I had my facts straight. :panic:

But really, if you guys want to read about a pirates pirate, look up Black Bart. He put the profit in Pirate.

He was actually a captured navigator from a slave ship, and forced to serve the pirate captain Davis that took him. He had earned so much respect on the ship, that when Davis was killed, the crew asked that he take over that position instead of using one of their own. He accepted of the Honour, saying, that since he had dipp'd his Hands in Muddy Water, and must be a Pyrate, it was better being a Commander than a common Man. His first action as captain you ask? Why, to avenge the previous captains death. He lead the crew back to Príncipe to avenge the death of Captain Davis. Roberts and his crew sprang onto the island in the darkness of night, killed a large portion of the male population, and stole all items of value that they could carry away. This guy reminds me of Johnny Ringo from Tombstone.

He's credited with having taken 456 ships. I don't think any other pirate even made it to 3 digits.

Oh! One last thing I learned on that program that I was surprised at.

It turns out a pirate captain did not have absolute command. In matters of where they went and what their goals were, it was very democratic amongst the crew, often coming down to votes. It was only during battle that the captain had complete control and his word was law. Any other time, it was not so. When a pirate crew formed, each person became a member of the council. No important decisions were made without their approval, and their decisions were sacrosanct. Not even the captain dared go against them, for one of the first decisions the council made was who should be captain.
