Same here, it's the only thing I'm interested in from EB, I'd rather HT just do that facial expression, either for the 2nd DX head or with another figure.

Which makes me wonder, might Angelica come with another Jack face to sweeten her figure appeal.

I think that is the coolest thing I have ever heard. They should include a different facial expression with each Pirates figure they release! Thats brilliant!:hi5:

Cool for the ones who wanted the Angelica figure, but I'd love to see the Blackbeard fig made! I loved that character in the movie, and think Ian McShane did an outstanding job!! Much better, IMO, than Davy Jones.

It seems like a good idea to me, adds appeal to the figure it's with, and it only needs to be the swappable face, not even a full head, and I think many collectors would like having a variety of expressions for their Jack figure.

Im sure Blackbeard will be made. Its just a matter of time. I disagree over his character in the movie being cooler then Davy Jones though. Blackbeard did ____ in the movie. Not a damn thing at all. At least nothing impressive on screen.
Hell he even got bested by a ONE LEGGED MAN.

I'm quite surprised that people got attached to the Blackbeard character in this film.

Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed this film but I just don't think his character was well done at all. I mean, NOTHING about him is explained, everything is just based off his reputation as a pirate and the audience is supposed to buy into him and believe that he should be feared.

That's great hahahahaha. Hot Toys are going to put Enterbay right out of business, HT Sparrow is phenomenal- I definitely have to order a second now.

I agree, but I just really liked Blackbeard, though. I just think Ian McShane is one of those actors who was born to play a villain. Perfect face and voice for it. I liked the entire look and everything over Davy Jones. And I feel that At Worlds End made his character weaker than the image given to him in Dead Man's Chest.

:lecture This is my problem with the film. He's supposed to be this awesome badass pirate---by namesake. He didn't do anything to really invoke that to me, and since they didn't explain anything about him or his ship we're just supposed to go with it??

It was weird Blackbeard's powers were never explored.

His voodoo abilities were a great idea - a pirate that has spent a lot of time with savages and his learnt their dark abilities - genius and barely needs explaining on screen. But they didn't even give a one liner?

But the sword....where the did his magic sword come from? Why does it draw its power from the sea? Why is its powers only applied to the ability to control parts of ships? ....that needed a lot of 'splainin! LOL :D ...and we got none !?

Still the movie was a fun rollercoaster.

:exactly: :goodpost:

This is shaping up to be the best hot toys figure hands down IMO.

Glad I ordered 2 :lol Only competitor imo is the Bruce Lee DX :rock

People keep saying Blackbeards not badass but

Hes 70 years old and walking around in extreme heat in a giant leather jacket and beard and can still hold his own in a fight.

Compared to Davy's crew who are bound to the ship by their own choice, Blackbeard simply keeps his men all but prisoner and gives them no say in where they go or what they do. (they also joined the crew under false pretenses and were lied to)

he frys the cook, he can't kill the rest of the crew for mutiny because hes going to kill them catching the mermaids.

He kills his own men who try to run out of the water away from the mermaids.

He denounces any faith in a god and accepts he will be going to hell if such a place exists.

Hes willing on several occasions to kill his own daughter to live on.

He has a ship he can sail without a crew and keeps the ships hes bested as trophies.

Davy was not really all that badass at all. He gave you the option of service your already doing anyway more or less. He couldn't leave his own ship, had too many weaknesses. Mr. Mercer was a far better villain then Davy.

His sword is the "Sword of Triton" or has some connection to "Triton." Hence the magic abilities. Though this is never explained in the movie.

Maybe now that Barbossa has the sword there will be more explanation in the next movie(s)

I never said he wasn't bad ass, all I said is that his character was not explained at all in the film.

How did he attain his power?
What was his power exactly?
What is the significance of his sword?
How did he put life size ships into bottles?

They just throw him on screen and since his name is 'Black Beard' the audience is supposed to just say 'Ok, no explanation needed carry on!"

I could go on but you get my point.

Besides the fact that he was immortal/supernatural-Couldnt die unless stabbed in the heart.

Or that he controlled a giant leviathan that sank ships.

Or had mens throats slit if they chose not to serve (on camera no less, you can even see a spurt of blood on the DMC bluray thats crazy for a Disney movie!)

And he could leave his ship. He just needed to be in water. You see this towards the end of At Worlds End.

And Davy Jones was quite a great swordsman, fighting Jack in AWE atop the Dutchman (with a crab/peg leg no less)
where as Blackbeard gets bested by a one-legged old man....

Davy Jones was known as "The Devil".

Besides he Nighy brought a greater presence to the character than McShane did as Blackbeard.

Davy Jones was far more bad ass, imo.

They never really explain how Tia Dalma brought Barbossa back to the land of the living either, but since she was a "God in human form" then people seem to just say "ah...ok."
