Congrats Sean. Nice shots there as usual. :clap That Medicom hat looks good on him. Why not use the HT's? :cuckoo: Also, not sure about the color of your custom jacket there for Jack but the fitting's nice. :)

Why can't all my figures look as good as Jack? :p Seriously, hands down, figure of the year for me! I own the CR Supes, which is amazing, but Jack just comes to life everytime I pass my detolf.

My camera sucks, but here are some shots of him during the different times of the day with different lighting.

Well the coat is the DX coat that comes with the figure, I just put layers of paint on it to change the color, and as for the hat, I've hated the DX hat from day one, looks too big on him and I don't like the shape, I prefer Medicom's size and sculpt. I actually feel the DX hat seems cheap, you hold it and it feels like some cheap thing, compared to tr quality of everything else he comes with, it seems non-DX quality.

As for the coat color, I wanted to get it closer to this.

Ahh, now I get your reference pic for the coat. Yeah, I also noticed in some pics that the original hat is somewhat bigger than it should be. I haven't got my Jack here yet (probably Jan. end) so I'm not sure about the texture & quality of it but thanks for that insight. :monkey1

In your reference pic, looks like the hat looks a bit greyish like the coat. Planing to repaint your Medi hat as well? :cuckoo:

Well the Medi hat is already reprinted, the original is almost black, but I will probably touch up the blacks in it, there's like a bluish tint to them in the photo. It's an easy and fun paint job to do so I don't mind if it needs more work, the coat was trickier.

@ maulfan - excellent work on the coat! :clap
So you didnt use ANY water at all in your paints? Not even to dilute it a bit? Also, which colours did you use? It kinda looks like dark grey with hints of brown. Anyway, it looks great to me. :rock

It started out like this from HT.

I first dry brushed it with a charcoal grey.

I felt the end result was to dark and almost blue looking, so then I hit it again with a lighter grey that had a hint of brown in it and used some blak to darken some areas. After I painted the light stitching back to how it should be and painted the buttons.

Sean, I love the coat color. Way better than the brown that HT gives us. I'm still baffled as to why they chose brown. I watched intently, his coat never looked THAT brown in the films.

It baffles me as well, but no one seems to get right. There's been 2 HT coats and 2 Medicom coats now an so far, the old Medicom figure's black coat has been the closest. HT's AWE prototype had a black coat, it was surprising to get the figure and see a chocolate brown.
