Excellent pics, MaulFan. I'm so looking forward to opening this.

Can anybody who has taken off the coat and put it back on tell me how difficult doing so is? I haven't decided how I'm going to display him, but I fear it may be difficult putting the coat back on properly after taking it off. I never took the coat off my AWE Jack since I also had the Cannibal version.

great pics Maulfan!

Love all the ones the look like they came from promo pics or posters! great stuff!

I got an extra DX hat from TA in hope of modding to be like the hat in OST. The DX hat is in the style fromt he first 3 movies.

Looks like Jack will be here Friday! My first DX actually to bad I'll have to give it to the little lady to wrap and put under the tree but I'll only have to wait two more days till I can open him.

Just like I remember in one of POTC's poster! :yess:

Awesome shots, Awesome poses, Awesome work Sean! :hi5:

Excellent pics. Mine arrived the other day along with Indy. I am getting them both for xmas. I'm getting the POTC 4 on 3D Blu Ray too even though I don't think i'll enjoy it. I love the first film only so far.

Yeah, that was one huge nit pick of mine, the old Jacks couldn't hold a sword. And Cannibal King couldn't hold his staff. For a company that's relied on the 'details' I thought that was pretty much a bonehead move.

It's hard to remember, but the first POTC figures were some of the first figures to come as Hot Toys started it's big leap towards the quality they're at now. As frustrating as those hands are today, they were a delight in their time, before those figures, HT had been using fat, Hasbo-level hands on their figures, a detail that hurt some figures. Thankfully, as they've grown, they saw a better way to go about it now.

I'm curious, what mods do you plan to make to the hat to do that. I would say the DX hat doesn't specifically represent the hat of any Pirates movie, but certainly looks closest to OST.

Well it's more of fixing the back of the hat. In OST, is just rolled in the back and horizontal, like 3 edges. But in the other films, there's more of like 4 edges b/c the back of the hat has the fold down the center if that makes any sense. I'm on my phone so I can't post any pics to show it properly. And if that works I an to paint it like you have painted your medi hat, which looks great btw :)

Gotcha, yeah the back of the DX hat is a mess :lol I think in order to make it out of material and not sculpted, they had to sacrifice accurracy for getting it to hold together. I think they should have just done a properly sculpted hat with a nice paint job.

Yea I hear ya. I guess they just wanted to try and make as many thing out of material as they could to try and up their last figures

On the first 2 Jack figures, the wrist band on his right hand was hard sculpted and part of the hand, you couldn't pose the hand, basically just spin it on his forearm, made many poses impossible, and there was only one hand to hold the pistol and sword, and it doesn't hold the sword well, now we get one for each weapon because they require different grips.

Here are the old hands.

My only gripe with this awesome figure, is that the hands are too smooth looking. Needs more texture like the face.
But that's very minor nit-picking. This figure is as good as it gets. :clap

I, too, would like to know this.

It's not hard at all. Take off his hair, take off his scabbard, take off the coat, put the scabbard back on, put the hair back on. To put the coat on, again, remove the hair, remove the scabbard, you may want to use tweezers or something to help pull his shirt sleeves through. That's about it.

I know this has been said 1000 times but I'm so satisfied and happy that Jack turned out so well...we've all been hearing and reading about these QC issues with other HT figures, but it looks like Jack is finally the quality that we desire and deserve (considering the price).

Figure of the year for sure :clap! January can't come soon enough :panic:

He's very well made and seems free of major QC issues from a production stance, but I do feel that the packaging needs a look at. I know others have posted, and I suffered too, from paint rubbing off the spare head. I little protecive plastic on both faces would have been nice since they just flop around inside the foam and can be rubbed in transit. I find it odd that HT worried about wrapping his dreads but not the faces.

Ah, thanks, Sean... Makes me happy that I didn't pick a Jack up a couple years back. :lol

Anyone else's Jack have issues with his coat missing buttons and his left leg knee joint being super loose? (Ordered mine from SSC)

Just came out of my display room and I'm even happier with Jack now almost a week later! The detail and the head sculpt just blow me away! I can't express just how amazing he really is! I'm so glad I got him :yess:
