Re: Official NECA The Terminator Thread

Yeah but *breaks into moan* show it NOWWWWW and release it this summer!!!!

Pretty much too late at this point, if they aimed to have it in hands for the anniversary at the start of July, it'd have to go into production right about now, and even then, that only gives about 4 months for production. I'd think something more complex like that would be like 5-6.

Re: Official NECA The Terminator Thread

OK well I really don't care that it be specifically timed for the anniversary down to the month. I'd still like to see something sooner rather than later though.

Re: Official NECA The Terminator Thread

Oh believe me, I badly want it, it's my 2nd most wanted figure anyone could make. I'm riding all my hopes on the anniversary being the reason we haven't gotten it yet, so I've been hoping they would maybe even be timing it's shipping or reveal to coincide with the specific release month of July, at this point, if that has any bearing, it'll be a reveal. If they unveil in April I won't care, I'll be psyched, I just feel like at this point, it's either being saved for the anniversary or it's not coming.

^Same.

I presume the 18", if it happens, is going to be the Pescadero one again. Not sure I need that...or any Neca arnie at 18" really.

The main reason I'm getting the Neca 1/4 scale predator is to have that sculpt with a decent paintjob the likes of which just isn't happening at 8" these days. Likewise the 1/4 alien. But for Terminator I've got Hot Toys for the great paintjobs. Plus Enterbay are releasing a 1/4 scale T2....

That's neat, but I'd rather a 12" liquid metal T-1000, or even a Cyberdyne 12" T-800.

Or all of them. There's so much they could do that would most likely sell.

A cheap 12" Liquid Metal T-1000 (REALLY round out the 1/6 options of T-1000), a 12" Galleria T-1000 (to go with the 12" Pescadero T-800, maybe include a full sauce head), Cyberdyne 12" T-800.

18" versions of Pescadero Arnold and Galleria T-1000.

Hell, now we have T1 figures. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw 2-ups or 18" figures of the Police Assault T-800.

I would literally buy it all. The only thing they need to do is up their quality control, that's the only problem I have with them. Make it so the figures are better made and the paint applications less sloppy and this stuff is gold.

They said it would most likely be Pescadero over the T1 options since it is supposedly more iconic.

I could see a 12" Biker T1 if HT hasn't unveiled one by the time they'd put it into production.

As for 18" figures, other than the full BD or Cyberdyne, I just don't think the NECA T-800s would look that interesting at that size. Enterbay will probably have some posability to it for options

Re: Official NECA The Terminator Thread

I bet it's in stages of figure design and production as we speak Maulfan, that and Reese and the Police Shoot Out T-800.

They did say way back when in an issue of MILK that if the Sarah Connor sold well, they would make T-1000 and a DX T-800. We ended up seeing T-1000 just a mere couple of months later and we can't say that it didn't sell well with people buying atleast two of each.

NECA said in 2009 that if the T2 T-800 sold well, we'd see T-1000, look at what Series III brought in in 2010. Now NECA is saying that if the new 1984 Terminators sell, we'll see a Reese.

This stuff is a done deal. The demand is there. The licensing is there. It's just a question of when.

Re: Official NECA The Terminator Thread

Well the Predator fans (myself included albeit less than terminator) have just gotten announcement, pics and specs of a much wanted and seemingly inevitable figure. How could T2 BD or T1 police shootout or Kyle Reese be any less wanted or seem any less inevitable? So yeah I'd agree it has to be a question of when.

Same. The 12" Pescadero sorta fulfils my need for a larger scale version of that figure, and the BD one, sure it would be the more interesting option but it would have the same 'too erect' problem that the 7" and 12" have. I dunno, I'd possibly be a sucker and buy but I wouldn't be hugely excited about it.

Re: Official NECA The Terminator Thread

Without knowing full detail on how HT is able to do T1 figures, I can understand possible licensing issues affecting choices to do more T1 figures, but T2 is a free for all as NECA's demonstrated, as John would say, figures from that film are easy money.

Re: Official NECA The Terminator Thread

I'm now going to buy the NECA terminator 1 figures so they will make a reese. Now since NECA has the license it is pretty much set, Hot Toys does to and we will being seeing a HT reese soon

Re: Official NECA The Terminator Thread

I can't believe that I haven't posted in this thread yet!
Needless to say, I'm unbelievable excited about these figures. Finally, 6 inch scaled figures from one of my favorite movies. True, I do have the Hot Toys T-800 but that's more of a display piece. I'm afraid to really move him fearing breakage. Now with NECA, I can go wild. Posing them any which way I please and being able to enjoy the amazing sculpts.
Great job, NECA and Tankman! They pretty much look spot on to the movie counterparts.

Re: Official NECA The Terminator Thread

Its probably been asked on Twitter at some point. Still I wish they'd give updates on their Terminator line like they do their Predator stuff. Don't they consider The Terminator an important license?

More fans seem to comment about predator than terminator. That, combined with the fact that a new predator movie came out less than a year ago means many preddy updates..

Looks like the biker cop has an alternate normal arm and the Steel mill T-1000 certainly seems to have a normal non-bd headsculpt. I'm very glad of that.

Also heres a little mod I did for an Uncle Bob T-800-

^its using a McFarlane MM4 right arm and the right hand from the McFarlane 'door kicking' Jack Bauer from 24. They're glued in place, no articulation.

Heres a minor modification for the Galleria T-1000 - that first shoulder bullet hit
