I bought Marcus Wright kinda late on and I really liked the figure. I then bought an Elvis custom of his BD look with a BD endo chest that Elvis made from scratch. Both excellent looking figures but I ended up selling them, purely for 'cutting down' purposes - figures from a ''not a real Terminator film'' were some of the more obvious candidates that I thought had to go. Oh and I've got that John Connor figure and 2 T-700 dioramas in my for sale thread but I'm not really pushing them at the moment, haven't bumped it in awhile. Haven't sold anything in a long time for that matter. No one wants what I have. Haven't even gotten lowball offers for the stuff.

I know it's not going to happen, but I really wish NECA would do Salvation figures, but I get it, Geinsys is basically just Arnold, we're only getting T-1000 because it's a simple figure made from mostly the same parts as Ultimate T2 T-1000, they haven't wasted fresh work on non Arnie figures from anything outside of T1 and T2, but I just really like the costume designs of Connor's first uniform and Marcus' blue coat costume, i miss my Hot Toys versions.

I would definitely buy Salvation figures. Connor with all of his weapons, Marcus with some interchangeable battle-damaged parts,a T-600 Endo, and the Grenade-scarred/molten steel damaged/flesh stripped T-800 Endo from the finale would all be awesome.

That's where I got when I sold off my collection, forced to sell a few things I didn't want to in need of cash, but I basically sold off everything popular to the world and least popular to me, now what I have is truly my most valued, but also fairly worthless in the world, I love Rambo but no one else seems to, at least enough to pay $100s for pieces :lol

I love my NECA collections though, small but robust. At some point I want to pick up a McFarlane T3 figure or two just to have a little representation, despite feelings for the movie it makes for some cool figures.

Same here, they're doing really well for me with all my favourite licenses. I've got an array of figures that seemed mere dreams when McFarlane were doing movie figures. For some reason they were reluctant to truly milk Aliens, Predator, Terminator and Robocop for all they were worth whereas NECA go ahead and make every possible T-800 variant, the entire Lost Predator clan and their trophy wall, ED-209, human figures from the Alien franchise, the Powerloader, almost every possible version of Dutch, a Kyle Reese - all total no-goes for McFarlane for whatever reason.

Also now that Enterbay is essentially dead and my Hot Toys collecting is done (unless they happen to make more from T1/T2/Aliens) NECA is entirely where it's at for me - they're the ones providing my fix now.

What happened to EB!?

Death by HT?

Didn't they just release an amazing Robocop figure?

Or was that long ago, I lost track.

EB's basketball line is going strong, but their film stuff seemed to not be able to compete enough or not get the right licenses. I believe you can still get BD T-800 at retail, Rambo took forever to sell out, it still may not have.

Their 1/6 was very pricey for some basic figures like their MIB, so not shocked those didn't take off, I thought they had the 1/4 scale market cornered, but EB an HT have pulled away from those, though HT is pursuing Star Wars but you could slap that logo on a steaming turd and it would sell so that's easy money, even more so than every Iron Man variant.

NECA's often seemed to think big picture and sculpted their figures to have a fair amount of parts they could reuse, I feel like McFarlane went for extreme poses that only work for the one figure, albeit pretty nicely in cases, but that's it.

If NECA couldn't recycle, we wouldn't have the extended lines we have, thankfully they're smart about things and we have a great representation of T1 and T2, I'd settle for a small sample of T3 or T4 from them, moreso T4 since I like those designs more and no one ever has done them at this scale.

They're making Alien 3 and AvP stuff so they don't seem to be averse to putting out toys based on less liked films so many years later. I say Alien 3 only because its unshakeable reputation is that it's a bad film - I happen to disagree and I quite like it. Alien Resurrection on the other hand is an absolute turd by probably even more people's estimation and yet apparently that film too will be getting figures from NECA eventually.

So I wonder is it worth it for someone to ask Randy if T3 and T4 figures will ever happen, mentioning the above point as a preamble.

Personally I'm easy, if NECA don't want to touch those films I won't really care.

What I really look forward to moreso is Ultimate T1 figures - I think both the Tech Noir and the Police Shootout looks warrant it. Basically just 2 figures that encompass all 4 of the previous T1 T-800s they released, now with the increased leg articulation (and importantly the ability to do a basic standing pose - exciting! :D )

BTW i wanted you to pay attention to this tiny detail. you might notice that long ago, but i now try to do it whenever possible with my figures:

Note that even in a shot when the T-800 just stands, he still strikes a visually interesting action pose

t800axe2.png
Terminator 2: Judgment Day Depth and Complexityof course he stood like that just because moments ago he was hitting things with a huge hammer, so he put legs wider for extra balance - and then didn't reposition them, waiting for a hammer return. so that is actually "an action pose". that's what the article's author didn't notice. but still that "legs on shoulders width" feature works better than just "basic" :)

(or it was an axe, not a hammer. don't remember already)

Since it appears NECA haven't provided an interchangeable endoskeleton arm I wonder if the McFarlane T-850 endoskeleton arm could be rigged to use on this figure. It has gore and some leather jacket sculpted on it but I don't think it would look wrong - not completely accurate but still cool

I haven't fully opened up the Guardian but my figure came with some really funky eyes. From the side it looks fine but front view is wonky. I'll have to open him up and examine it more but from the window view looks weird.

I asked a while back and the answer was no. Randy was pretty clear that he was only concerned about the first 2 films. This was before Genesys though.

Would be cool to see Neca expand on this line like they have with Alien/Predator, though I guess there is more potential re-use of the alien parts and they're proven sellers. I like T3 more than most. I'd love to see the machines from that. A ultimate T3 Arnie with a coffin would be sweet.

Couldn't give a toss about TS. WOuld probably pick up a T600 though.

I contacted the licensors for T2 about HT making a new figure for the anniversary. I got a blunt reply saying 'contact them yourself'. I felt like replying, 'Do you really think I'd be here if they would reply to me?'

Disgusted that my Ultimate T-800 didn't arrive today. I need a fix, even if it is a figure with only a small variation on what I already have.

oh and I ordered the Genisys figures too

Received the ultimate T-800 today. Not opening it in work but from what I can tell it looks good apart from the paint on the useless BD head and it looks like the grenade launcher and the minigun are going to be severely wonky as was quite typical with the Cyberdyne Showdown figure too. Thank you unnecessary twisty ties.

The sunglasses on the other head are not separate, they're just like the older figure so you're not missing anything there Maulfan.

Congrats, a-dev! :hi5: You should post some updated pics of your collection sometime. From what I've seen, it's pretty awesome.

I kind of figured it was like the older figures. Glad I passed. Still haven't opened my guardian.

Thanks. I haven't posted pics of my NECA collection in years so I assume you're referring to the Hot Toys stuff. Either way, yeah some photos are probably due.
Awful QC on the T-1000 aside I'm so happy with what NECA have given us since 2009, just an amazing collection of grails from my favourite films.

Guardian and the Lee T-1000 are on their way to me aswell, ordered them on sunday. And I've ordered 2 Pops figures to display both looks, heck might even go for a third to customise that full endoskeleton arm before it gets torn off. This from the guy who I'm sure at one point said he had no interest whatsoever. Just as happened with the Ultimate T-800 :rolleyes2

Anyway, I've opened up the figure and he's very good. I would highly recommend him to anyone who missed the previous ones for sure. The new leg articulation is great and pretty much invisible. I've decided to display him swinging a fireaxe as in this scene:

because the new articulation enables a suitable leg stance as P. was referring to a couple of pages back.

Other observations - hair is a lighter brown than the previous figures, much like how it looks in the sunlight of the desert scenes. Oh and yes the mini-gun in my set is warped in every way possible, a total write-off. I left it in the box.

Heck, I'd love to see more of both (NECA and Hot Toys). I never got into collecting Terminator stuff, but it's really great to see just how much cool stuff there is out there.
