Re: NECA T2 T-800 Pescadero Escape review

just saw the t2 set at a local store. i was worried about skin colored sunglasses as well, but upon seeing the fig in person it's really not as bad as in the close up photos.

paint app is still somewhat an issue though. have to be selective to get a good one.

Re: NECA T2 T-800 Pescadero Escape review

This is the problem with buying online. I have to take what I get. I have a feeling I'll be looking to find these at retail aswell.

Re: NECA T2 in store pics

Haha ... that's quality :lol

Thanks for posting those pics with the McFarlane figures. Good to know theres cross compatibility there. I have a feeling Tankman had a hand in ensuring that.

About the head you put on the MM4 - does it actually insert into the socket or have you just placed it there?

Finally that MM4 figure can realise its full potential once we get the BD headsculpts! After how many years??

No probs mate... the head sits on the MM4 neck area steadily, i just put a tiny bit of blu-tack underneath to make sure it stayed sturdy.

Re: NECA T2 in store pics

What happened to the sculpted fleshy bits on the exposed endo arm as we saw in the protos??

I'm surprised anyone is saying MoM is their favourite - it really took a dive in quality. The face paint apps are brutal - no better than a Hasbro 3 3/4" Star wars figure. The Endo arm is now saturated in spotted blood which it was not in the film nor on the 2up figure, the sculpted fleshy bits are gone, and it just looks decidedly undetailed compared to the proto. Observe..

Thats what I wanted.

i'm more dissapointed with the eyes. the proto above has a perfect face sculpt. perfect. this makes me worry about the series 2 arnie, since both are to have the same head sculpt on them. hope they'll pick a better factory to do the paint app.

Not likely, the production figures get traditional toy eyes, white with an iris and a line for the eye lashed along the eyelid, very basic, the proto is painted with care and realism.

They both look absolutely awesome. If neca get the battle damage right on the damaged figure, it will be the best 7 incher, ever!

And how good does the minigun figure look? I bet it's very heavy, and will feel great in the hands.
Woah! Looking forward to these two, if they turn out like the first set i'll be happy.

Love how the damaged one features 2 heads, the spare one will be perfect to put on the movie maniacs mcfarlane figure!

In a way i'm glad the pescedaro escape is the only figure with a head that features sun glasses, after that awful paint / sculpting job.

So that would be the first pic of the fully BD head we've seen? Looks very good. Although I now know to expect rather more disimprovement in the paintwork than I would like in the production piece. I worry about the BD heads in particular actually, the coolness of the exposed endo skull could well be negated by sloppy work on the eyes like the MoM figure.

Blu-tack! I've used that stuff a few times on figures. So I take it then that it doesn't actually fit into the socket of the MM4 in any way - still, as long as it looks good and natural.

The pics below show my best effort to get a head with an Arnie likeness on my MM4 with custom-damaged arm. You'll recognise it as the T3 box set 'End Battle' head. But it was never entirely suitable, obviously because the battedamage is not accurate to T2 but also because it was sculpted without much in the way of a neck and what neck is there is cut at an angle so I haphazardly cut off a section of the original MM4's neck to put under it. But NECA's figures have appropriate necks to fit this body without any ugly cutting or additions. So I'm thrilled with that.

I'm still going to use this custom but with a fully BD head from the new NECA figure which will in turn use the SWAT attack battle damaged head. My other uncustomised MM4 T-800 will get the SWAT damage head from my 2nd NECA BD figure and which in turn will use the fully BD head. The original head that came with MM4 can finally be consigned to the spare parts box.

edit- just rereading those last sentences it strikes me how hard they are to get through...dunno how else to retype it though!

As I said i think the spare head with the minigun figure (the one in the little box, top right) will look great on the Mcfarlane effort.

Yep, thats what I tend to call the SWAT attack BD head. Its the more scene accurate head for what the MM4 represents.

Those look amazing, I'd be all over 12inchers of those. Heres to hoping that the 12" pescadero at least has properly sculpted sunglasses. Imagine the flesh coloured rims blown up to 1/6th - unforgiveable.

Yeah, i'd refer to it as SWAT attack as well. I've lost the accessories from the McFarlane figure, may have to buy him again now!

It really would! I'd probably leave the 12" anyway, not really into them.

Dwayne, how did you get the head off the Movie maniacs figure? I will attempt to do it, but might want to put it back at a later date. So I wouldn't wanna damage the figure or head. Cheers

Boil&pop did it for me in the past. I wonder is it the same for the NECA one.

And my question for Dwayne - do you have the sunglasses from MM4? What do they look like on the Man or Machine headsculpt?

I wouldn't be too sure about that. NECA has been known for some low-blow variants. All of those AVP:R Predators come to mind. Masked, unmaksed closed mouth, unmasked open mouth, etc. Until I see a packaging pic with both heads I'm betting it will be a variant.

The sculptor of the NECA figures confirmed it'd be one figure, like their Rob Zombie Michael Myers had swappable heads.
