By they way, I saw the trailer in 3D in front of avengers. The 3D looked amazing. Even more so than the Spidey trailer. (Both Spidey and Prometheus were filmed in 3D. And I'm not a fan of 3D.)

If they didn't want it to count, they could've omitted any reference to that or Alien 3. Which is the problem, since Alien 3 and A:R are bound together (because of the whole DNA plot). So you can't say one is canon (Alien 3) and not the other (A:R). Probably why they said F it and just included everything minus the AVP movies (which aren't supposed to be canon).

You can totally nix Alien Resurrection and accept Alien 3 as canon. You just say that Alien Resurrection never happened, they never used Ripley's DNA and this whole "USM" never existed. That's what retconning is. The whole DNA plot was the only single line of thread that kept A:R from happening anyways and it's much easier to cut that thread than anything else.

Accordingly, from the whole timeline, it looks like Alien, Aliens and Alien 3 are the only canon films recognized by Ridley Scott and the other filmmakers. AVP, AVP:R and Alien Resurrection are all non-canon.

I've read conflicting sources, some say absolutely NO Alien appearance and another source said there will be large Alien(s) appearing in it?

Does anyone know which is true?

Just saw the preview when I watched the Avengers and this looks damn good. Had no clue that Chalize Theron was cast in this movie.

Based on what I've heard, we won't be seeing the exact Alien(s) from the other franchise films but we will see earlier versions of them (before they evolved). So technically yes but technically no.

But who knows since these ass clowns making it originally lied and said this movie had absolutely nothing to do with Alien. Remember?
