See, I don't think we'll get to that at all. They've been saying it doesn't connect directly up to Alien. But that could mean different things.

I still think we'll see the original idea for the Alien. Giger's picture Scott picked out.

They also originally said that this had no connection to Alien other than it being in the same universe.

But just to be clear, even if we see how that derelict ship ended up on LV-426, how the space jockey flying it had its chest torn apart, how the eggs got inside and even if we see a face hugger and a chest burster: Prometheus will STILL NOT connect directly to Alien. Because of the time difference.

Aliens is set in 2179 and Alien takes place 57 years before (2122). According to the Weyland Corp timeline, the Prometheus project enters the planning stages in 2079. All the official info released from FOX says that Prometheus takes place late in the 21st Century (which ends 12/31/2100).

So there's still a 22 year gap between whatever we see at the end of Prometheus and what we saw during Alien. More than enough time for Scott (or whoever) to make another film in between the events of those movies.

I don't understand whats happening in this video, not the message, but the editing with the facial stuff, and "Yutani" logo?

My take was that it started at name recognition from what she had said, when it had that narrowed down it matched that list against facial recognition, then when it thought that was right, went for the tooth scan from her opening her mouth while talking to do a dental check to make sure it had the correct ID.

No assumption needed: It's already been established that "Prometheus" acknowledges "Aliens" through the Weyland Corp Time line which mentions numerous things only seen in that film that have nothing to do with Alien which Scott was associated with.

And he and Cameron are good friends, and did at one time want to work on an Alien film together.

Also, he invited Scott on the set of Avatar, which set this whole thing in motion.

He very much loves, or at least likes Aliens.
