I thought you were being snooty. My bad. .

I don't give a ____.
Xenomorph means The Alien from the Alien series. No matter how you slice it. It's what it's called.
Well, it kinda is. Look up Xenomorph, and show me how many non Alien related things you find.

I'm pretty sure it is, though. It's a term Gorman or someone else put together to describe what Ripley described in her report. An alien creature that goes through different...morphs.Nobody is disputing that, but it's not a term that is exclusive to those particular creatures. That was our point...
So what's the problem?
The word Xenomorph is not in the dictionary. Any meaning of the word is purely fiction so it's pretty much open to anything; although a quick google search links it almost solely to 'Alien'.
Xenos in greek means Stranger of Foreigner..and we know what morph means. The term Xenomorph was made up in Aliens. The word Xenomorph is not in the dictionary. A Xeno...morph.
Has the word ever been used outside the Alien universe?
Read my previous post, Earth biology term for unknown shape or entity

I'm pretty sure the actual word Xenomorph was made up for Aliens..Was it used pre or post 1986 though...
Pretty sure Pre (i'm only a young Bio student to be fair) It's one of those OTT really "science" terms they coined back in the day to sound really cutting edge and new

Geology.
