Alf and the Alien both fall under the meaning of the word xenomorph. Xenomorph basically means alien. The words are synonyms, so I don't understand why it matters if people want to call them aliens or xenomorphs or whatever. The meaning of the word does not change due to the fact that these aliens are deadlier than ET or the guy from Mac and Me.

I'm also not saying that xenomorph is what their true name is. We're never told that. They could be called Slopomobolees for all we know. I'm just saying that xenomorph and alien are interchangeable and it really isn't something worth arguing over due to that fact.

Boba, serious...I´m sitting at work reading this and need to focus.
All of a sudden I read Slopomobolees and I have to laugh inside myself.

This Alien name conversation thing is draaaaaaagging. They do not have a name. They sometimes have individual nicknames based on something they did or in what distinctive way they look. The very nature of what they are is we have no idea. And thats why the first 4 alien movies, 2 avp's derive such speculation and following and why everything else game and merch wise labels generic and loose terms. It is the mystique of the creature.

All though of course Prometheus could come along and call them Sting Wingers and we would have to accept it.

They do not even need a name though. Because most of the speculation and rumour is that they are a Species just manufactured to be tools in order to terraform planets to make them inhabitable for the Jockeys. And all we have ever seen from the 6 movies they appeared in is that their base and only instinct is to set up a nest in order to replenish their numbers and then start making their own inhabitance.

But then what if they DO have a name? They might have 3 official names. One we call them, one's the Jockeys call them and one the Predator's call them.

But at the moment Xenomorph is its unofficial name even if people want to start an argument over nothing saying its not. If enough people name the creatures something and it catches on and sticks that becomes its name. Thats how names started in the first place. Word and recognition. it doesnt need to make sense.

Did you guys forget how UNQUALIFIED Gorman was as their leader? He called it a Xenomorph because...well, that's what he came up with. He used it as a generic term.

No one in that crew knew what that meant. When Hudson said Bug Hunt he probably meant something along the lines of "Bull____ mission."

There. Christ....

What about Tremors? Graboids. Grab- they grab you....Oids- I don't know.

The species name isn't called Graboids, it's just a name that stuck.


And Hish, Yautja, aint real. None of that goofy bull____ exists. Xenomorph gets more credit because it's in the movie.

That's how I've seen it since I first watched Aliens.

Dunno why anyone would think otherwise..

i find it hilarious that the studios would make a site remove a trailer. it's a freaking commercial for the film, not the film itself. this "release date" thing for commercials is getting stupid.

Worked for me.

Fairly straightforward nods to ALIEN considering how cagey everyone has been about whether it is/isn't related. But after seeing it I felt like I already watched it in those coming soon clips. It's quite short.
