That will cost you.
Words can not express how relieved I feel for slapping down a couple hundred for this pretty woman. Could you blame me? Being this is the first Gentle Giant Star Wars piece I will own, and given the fact that their last debacle of a statue, the Obi-Wan Kenobi turned out the way it did... lets just say these pictures put me at ease.

I know! I so would pay for this easily! And with my setup I was pretty much forced to keep her for good or bad. So this is very promising! Another person from another part of the world (Hong Kong) confirmed that it came out great too! Everyone who has seen this in person or has received their's says it looks like the prototype. The only complaint being her short stubby fingers which seem almost cartoonish. However, the rest of the body anomy is phenomenal from what I can see, and that has to be the best Carrie Fisher likeness to date! Here's hoping that everyones Slave Leia's paint apps are just as good. That's the only thing that could potentially hurt this piece for some, because the mold came out flawlessly.

Now where's that "Breathes a sigh of relief" icon when you need it!

The next question I have is when's it shipping to the rest of the world???

I don't have her on order, but she does look very good.

And I never noticed the stubby fingers before. They do look a little on the short side.

Batty post some from her back to show off how great it looks. This is a beautiful statue from at every angle! I wished I had a wheel to spin this thing! Cause rarely do I want to showcase a statue from all angles. But whoever sculpted this did an amazing job! It's so life-like in proportions aside from her hands that suffer the Simpsons disease. Granted she has five digits to their four.

Well . . .for people who are getting these, there's only 2 regions that they'll be zooming on. So, stubby fingers won't detract from the experience.

Now, before we get ahead of ourselves, we still need to see how they handled the paint apps when they finally ship to us . . .

The one pic of her in the box looks pretty good...But, yeah, it will be good to see some more production shots.

If she is this good, I might have to get her.

These are customer and retailer pictures. Unless you mean that every statue may differ depending on the paint apps, then I concur. I even mentioned that earlier, but I am more confident with the idea that everyone who has received their order has been more than pleased with how she has turned out vs. the prototype pictures we received. Always have to trust the end result over the prototype piece, which in this case is the mass produced items that we the retailers and customers receive.

As for the hands, it may not be a big hang up to some based on the overall presentation of this piece, and the fact it is so well done. Nonetheless, it's still a justified hang up regardless of how one feels. These are not cheap 7-10 dollar Hasbro figures, but 200 dollar resin statues. So we should expect nothing but the best! Even when it comes to the smaller things.

In the end, it was the face, and the detailings I was more-so concerned about being lost in the production process. However, seeing as that doesn't seem to be the problem based on these pictures have turned out, Gentle Giant may have a returning customer in your's truly, with the hope that mine turns out nicely. I am sold on this being GG's best piece to date!

I think this might be what you're looking for...

Of course, I never had any doubts myself, so I won't be needing that particular smiley this time. ;)

Rest of the world? How about when it's shipping to ANYONE? These are the only pics I've seen so far. I wonder how long it will take for BBTS to get their allotment?

I heard next week.. geez said that earlier. Nobody reads my posts. Surprised anyone even came in this thread and replied to it! hehe

Whew...

It's the only item I've got ordered from GG (and maybe the only item I'll ever get from them) and it's nice to see the first few pics of what will be an incredible addition to any and every SW collection.

Passable likeness. Face is too coarse, it'd just off.

I've never felt compelled to buy a GG product, and this one's no different.
